What is background check, how do they check our background?

They just go to backside of your ground ::) ::) and then check>> :o :o :o :o :o that's called as background check :P :P...just kidding!!

It means they want to know from where-ever [country] you belongs to and then do the necessary procedural steps to talk to one of the department who have hold on your criminal activities in your native country to check either you are involve in any of activity related to crime after 18 years of age to till now..that's why they always ask for PCC from your native country as well too..

Cheers ;) ;)

Thank you for your respond,

I have questions to you and other forum members about background check, I would appreciate if you could share your thoughts or experience.

1) Do you know when CIO starts background check, afte they receive our application or after medical results?
2) What if our native country does not respond to CIC about our criminal record? There are weird countries in this world. I have sent my PCC along with my application. What will CIO do to my application if there is no answer from my native country? Do they have alternative procedures?

Thank you for your time!

M&M, I assume you are planning to land after leaving the country and while coming back.
Funds: I know that many are getting through by showing paystubs and employer letter but my suggestion is to have funds required as per cic. We never know which officer will go just by books.
Previous status in Canada: As long as you had(/applied) workpermit then you can just show the workpermit and paystubs while entry (only if asked about it).

Hi. Harirajmohan.
I am wondering
Do we need to bring some proofs of employment when landing?
Are you going to bring some?
Is paystub made by one's employer?
I have heard once i have a job, i dont really have to show how much funds I have.
What I was going to bring to the border was some papers from immigration and my passport.
I didnot know i should get ready for something else.
I thought showing proof is kind of exceptional situation, so i don't really have to be ready.
However,,, it does not look like.

Can I ask you something?

A guy just came to my office, asking to see my boss (also the owner). Apparently this guy is from Canada Revenue agency and he was making questions about my taxes & salary.

Anybody heard anything like this? According to my boss this person was satisfied with the information provided. My boss told me that this guy called him one month ago letting him know that he would come.

Does this mean they are working on my application, so they can finally deliver PPR?

If the guy was from CRA...then he is most likely auditing or reviewing your boss/company's payroll account.

Did he specifically ask about you only? Are there other employees (on payroll) working there?

I got email like below,
"Your application has been updated. Please sign in to your MyCIC account and check your application status and messages for more information."

But I do not see any update in MyCIC account, does anybody having similar experience?
