You can tell the US border people that you want to return to Canada to landing (This is called flagpoling) or enter into US. Grab a lunch or sth, buy some cloths.

Did flagpole to Canadian Border and officially became Canadian permanent resident at 11:16 pm. It took 29 months (AINP and federal). Atlast came to an end. Very pleasant experience at the border. Both US and Canadian Border officers were super nice....
Thank you. First went to US border (Coutts) at 10:22 pm. The officer asked my how many people are on board. I told the officer that we are a family of 4. We want to flagpole. And I handed him 3 passports (2 passports with PR visa, 1 Canadian passport) and 1 birth certificate(Alberta) and told officer that children are Canadian citizen by birth. The officer asked why you want to flagpole, is for your work permit or for permanent resident. I told him for our PR. Then he told us to park the car and come inside the office. Waited there for around 10 mins. Another officer came and handed us our passports and the refusal letter. Also advise us that in future if you apply for US visa, answer yes and write flagpole to the question "Have you ever refused to enter US?" There will be no negative impact on your future US visa application. Then he escorted us to the Canadian border. Both officers were super nice. At Canadian Border (10:47pm) the office asked how many people are on board. I told the officer that we are a family of 4 and just flagpoled from US to Confirm our PR. The officer asked why you went to south (Montana) and again I answered we just flagpoled to do the landing. Then I handed him 3 passports (2 passports with PR visa, 1 Canadian passport) and 1 birth certificate(Alberta). The officer asked why you came so late. I told him received the passports today at 1 pm and left from Edmonton at 3 pm. Then the officer laughed and said can't wait to become Canadian and I said yes cant wait. He told us to park and come inside. Went inside and handed the refusal letter, passports , COPR and previous study and work permits to another officer. The officer went through the COPR with us and get our initials. Waited there around 15 mins. The officer called us in the counter told us to sign the COPR and congratulate us to became Canadian immigrant. Also advise us that we will receive the PR cards within 90 days and told us to update (sin, health card, etc) with this COPR. Both Canadian officers were super nice. That's how the whole landing process went through.mdh said:congratulations!!!!

I am Sept 2015 Inland applicant and I am planning to go to my home country in December. Can i submit the passport in my home country VFS office if I receive the passport request while I am in my home country?
Any feedback on this? I called IRCC and they said they do not have definite answer to this question.. Just wondering if any of you have came across a case similar to this..
Thanks!
You will have to email CIC for a definite answer when you get your passport request. They will either provide you with an extension to submit passport when you get back or allow you to submit passport in your home country. You have to follow instructions given to you and can't just submit it anywhere.Whitelion08 said:Hello,

Nice one! What kind of message did you send to them? I may do the same. I have tried all sorts of avenues to speed it up.benc123 said:Anyone waiting for PPR, I finally got mine on the 18th November 2016.
They received my application June 19th and had my medical done by May25th. I did have to redo one form due to mistyping a date, which put me behing about a month) Hopefully that should give you some idea of a timeline. Fingers crossed for you all, it was a big relief to finally get word from them.
I sent them a quick message in the Case Specific Enquiry Form and after 8 days I received PPR and no response to that message, so not too sure if that had anything to do with it, but may be worth a try if you've been over 16 months since applying.
Best of luck, will try to update once confirmation arrives. Anyone know how long it takes from sending photocopy of passport to receiving confirmation?
