Hi Friends,
my ECAS also updated recently & now I have 2 lines, but shows old date for In-Process. What-ever, at least I got an update....

1.We received your application for permanent residence on May 04, 2015.
2.We started processing your application on July 20, 2015.

seems like all feb march april applicants got their ecas updated..mine shows medical received..april 13 applicant..now whats next???rprf??

Very nice advice...I must remember that every day as the "wait" seems like forever...I am June applicant...three lines on ECAS, outland, waiting for medical request from my visa office...Please God, help us all achieve our dreams!!!

I have also asked this question and was advised by the seniors on MPNP 2013 forum that you should not do it upfront. Your Visa Office will send you the request including some number that needs to be stated on the medical certificate they send back to VO.

And please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you can only enter Canada whilst the medical is still valid and this is only for a year.
