Is there anybody in here waiting for their copr/passport back from Ottawa?
I sent my passport last March 1 and it reached their office on March 04.
Until now I haven't receive my passport back even the return tracker is not
yet activated. I'm getting worried and anxious now. My work permit will
expire on April 7.

Is there any similar case you know of who had their passport stuck and
What did they do to resolve the issue? I can't find cpp-ottawa's contact
number on Google. :'(

By the way, I think that you still have to remain your legal status until you officially land and become a PR

You need to keep your status until you land. One way you can do that is to apply for a new WP before your current one expires. The processing time for WP'S right now is 4 months but as long as you apply for a WP before your current one expires the you will have what is called implied status. With implied status you can continue working under the same conditions as your last WP.

There are some types of work permits that can not benefit from implied status so make sure you do not have that type of WP.

What type of WP do you have now?

I really don't think you will need to apply for another WP because I think you will have your COPR before then but if you know you have options it will at least make you feel better.

Looks like either they are yet to stamp many passports that are at high volume or staff is on leave during this holiday.
As they are slow in the last 2 weeks i am thinking it will be slow till next week due to staff taking leave around the holidays - i hope they reopen PPR doors on Tuesday but sorry i am not having confidence ??? :-\. Hopefully new PPR batches from Apr 4th.
