Hi Can,

IF they want fingerprint RCMP the text should look like this : 'A certified RCMP criminal record check based on fingerprints. These fingerprints must be sent to the RCMP Headquarters in Ottawa for a Certified Criminal Record Check'

Otherwise it looks like the standard police check ( for you and your spouse) that you should submit anyway with the PR application.

Police checks are for each country where you have been for more that 6 months since the age of 18. Some people will argue that is always best to send more (even if you haven't been ask), however CIC says that you should not send things that you have not been ask for... so, it is your choice. Are you an inland applicant ?

Hi there,

I just called the CIC call center. The agent was a kinda surprised about my case and told that I just have to wait!

Hi everyone! I submitted my fbi and my wife's police clearance back in May 2014 with the application package. My fbi is dated March and my wife's police clearance is April.

Do you guys think we'll just go ahead and apply for a new fbi and police clearance now in anticipation for CIC's request later? FBI takes 3 months to process.

I am May 20, 2014 applicant.

Thank you!
