Hey Guys

I landed this saturday on the carway border. The guy asked why I didn't landed in Calgary, I said I am here for hiking in waterton blaah.. However, it's all done. NOTE- Never leave the CBSA office untill you have been told, doesn't matter the people who are been with you for hangout are citizens or not. They can fine you upto 1000$. He got mad on my buddies . We grabbed duty free alcohal and paid customs. It's way cheaper to buy from there. Each of us bought 1ltr Blue label 132$ and paid 14 custom on each bottle.

You can travel to USA without PR card only by LAND and make sure you always have the Confirmation of PR paper which CBSA will provide you.

i got my file number(aor) last week and my current open work permit is getting expiry very soon. i haven't got my medical yet.



1)can i apply bridge work permit online or not?

2)what documents do we need to apply for bridge open work permit?

3)since i am MPNP do i need to send mpnp approval letter, support letter or LMIA-EXEMPT form for Bridge open work permit to cic?

As I understand:
1) Yes, you can, but at first you have to apply for open work permit or extend your current work permit
2) I cannot answer exactly what documents you need but I'm sure that you will need support letter from MPNP, approval letter from MPNP, etc. You can try online application to see what documents you need.
3) Yes you are. They will need all those documents.

Hi! 'Just wondering how the landing process is undergone... steps and possible questions and all.

Hey guys, we landed on Sunday April 26th in Carway (AB) border crossing. Some things to point out, officers are not really friendly but what surprised me the most is that they seem to be not 100 % up to date, or they are just lazy:

1- Officer from the USA side gave us an admission refusal even though we had VISA to enter the States, which he apparently realized after he issued the letter. Anyway, I wouldn't care since I was just turning around and not entering the States.

2.- Officer from Canada side was wondering why we did not have a visa stamped on our passports. I explain to him that we were from a visa exempt country, but he said his system was showing that we needed a visa ( I wonder if they have internet , lol). Canada lifted the visa requirement to Chilean citizens in November 2014...seriously??. Thank God I had the letter from CIC that said " because you and your dependents are from a visa exempt country ... no visa stamp was required..etc etc...". I gave him the letter but he was like: " this does not really tell me anything "....I had to point out with my finger the exact paragraph where it said so..then he is like...Ohhhh , ok I will still need to verify this...then we were all good.

3.- Surprisingly, he said to me that the PR cards will be sent to my old address, which was the one that (again) appeared on his "system". That old address was not even used for my PR application. It was an old address that we used when we applied for study and work permits but long time ago... He said he could not modify anything and that I would have to call and check with CIC, so be aware of this... I have a friend who also landed in Carway and it has been more than 2 months and he has not received the cards yet. I am suspecting that that's what happened to him.

Well was hoping for passport request but I got another document Request today in my junk mail...Thank God i check it regularly, the third after my application was submitted. I will be sending them tomorrow, but I kept wondering why Can't all the document requests be sent at Once.... CIC is indeed a mystery.....Well amma keep my head up and Pray for a great outcome after all these process....Congrats to those who got PPR......More coming Guys!!! 8)
