    November 2021 - Citizenship applications

I took my oath today - that's the end of the line for me! About 130 of us on the Zoom call mostly from BC, AB, SK and MB, the whole thing took just over 2 hours. Lots of happy faces and red & white paraphernalia - despite being a virtual ceremony you could tell how much everyone had waited for...

    November 2021 - Citizenship applications

Thanks bud! If there's anything I learned from my PR experience it's that IRCC operates without any observable logic or accountability whatsoever.. so I don't even try to figure it out anymore!

AOR required to extend a work permit after nomination??

I'm pretty sure the border officer made a mistake. They're not always on the top of things unfortunately. Unless they suddenly changed the rules somehow without telling anyone. The only issue here I can think of is the fact that the permit you need is for a new employer. Did you have any...

No signature on the physical card. I think the signature is included in the data within.

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

I received my PR card today. Landed on May 27. I did get ECAS updates about my PR card. I know it doesn't happen for everyone, so I guess I was just extra lucky.

PR Card - Landed in months of April -may 2015.

My ECAS says my PR card was put in process August 17 and mailed out to me on August 24. Haven't received it yet, hopefully next week. I landed on May 27. I have no idea why my ECAS shows updates about the PR card, when for so many other people it doesn't say anything.

    PNP PR APPLICATION JUNE 2014

I landed on May 27th, and my ECAS says my PR card was put into processing on August 17 and mailed out on August 24th. Haven't received it yet; hopefully next week. And FYI, not everyone unfortunately gets ECAS updates about the PR card. It seems completely random who gets them and who doesn't...

    Visitor status whilst awaiting nomination

If you can restore your status to visitor, then after the restoration takes effect you'll be in Canada legally, and you should be fine. Obviously you can't work while on visitor status, but at least you can stay here without worries. When it comes to flagpoling for a new work permit, you can...

high school graduate planning to come to canada

If your only concern is how fast you can get PR, then my advice is to look for any other province except BC, Alberta and Ontario. Generally those three have more people coming in that what the system can handle, so it may be easier to squeeze through in one of the other provinces. It's very...

Landed with wrong original entry date on COPR

It really does not matter. It's just a formality that doesn't carry any actual significance.

    PNP PR APPLICATION JUNE 2014

For me the tracker said it was successfully delivered even though it wasn't in my mailbox. So obviously I freaked out... but turned out it was marked as delivered when it was placed into the grey Canada Post hold box around the corner (the one where they leave all the bulk mail in the morning...

    PNP PR APPLICATION JUNE 2014

It'll take a few days. I didn't check my ECAS every day so I'm not sure exactly when mine changed, but it was within a week.
