My PGWP expires in april 2016... For BOWP, do I need IMM5802 from my employer?

While completing the form, which option do I choose:
Work permit with same employer
or
an initial work permit or work permit with a new employer
?

if you currently hold an open work permit and applying for a new open work permit, an initial work permit would be the one that best suits right??coz its not closed one..nothing to do with the employer..just an opinion bud..

IMM 5802 and employer compliance fees is for closed Work permit (Code:T13). BOWP is an open work permit and one of the several conditions is that you choose "Open Work Permit" in you application form. This would also be you initial work permit with a new employer. Please also note that requirement for a BOWP is that you have passed the positive eligibility assessment AND have received an AOR from CIO. You would also have to attached your AOR and nomination certificate with you application. Mention in you letter of explanation that you are applying for BOWP.

Any updates for anyone -- DMs? PPRs? or Security check updates in GCMS notes?

My application was received Nov 28, 2014, the last business day in November 2014. My application has been very slow relative to many others I've read here. I feel a bit bummed out to say the least.

My ECAS didn't even show In Process until mid October 2015, I got the same acknowledgements most of you did and Medical Request in April 2015 this year. Completed my medical in May and was registered as received, paid the RPRF and its acknowledged since I can log in with my receipt info.

Just this painful wait... Endless wait.. I need my final PPR and etc.

Hey rkapoor123,

I have very similar situation. My application for PR reached CIC on Dec 31, 2014 and my OWP expires in Apr 2016. I thought of applying for BOWP but on second thought decided its better to wait for some more time. I am hopeful that we'll get our PR application processed by Feb/Mar 2016. If I don't receive PPR by mid March, I will then apply for BOWP. If we apply for BOWP any time before the earlier OWP expires, we will be on implied status and should be okay. Main benefit this way is saving hassle and $350 ($155 for OWP + $100 for OWP holder fee + $100 for visa). What do you think?

Also, as someone pointed out, you need to have positive eligibility and AOR no. from CIC when you apply for BOWP. See this: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/work/prov/bridging.asp

How long did you wait for your wp restored? I am also waiting for my wp restoration, submitted the application on Aug 11, 2015. ???
