There are a number of CIC offices you can "Land At", in Alberta Calgary or Edmonton, 4 week wait for an appointment for Edmonton at the minute.

Hope this helps

Guys,

I posted this question here ones,

Could somebody please tell if there is any other choice other than flag poling. (Like going to service canada?) to obtain landing?

I am an inland applicant and I have send my passport for stamping.

I really don't want to travel now for flag polling, but would like to apply for PR card once I receive my passport back.

As Chamone said, you can land in Calgary as well. The waiting time here is also 4 weeks

First things first. You cannot land in Service Canada (I don't know where you got the info but its absolutely not true). The only reason people (who are already in Canada) go to the border to complete their landing formalities is b'coz its quicker (if you don't mind the driving) but if you don't mind waiting then please call CIC Call centre and take an appointment to visit the Visa Office in your city (CIC rep will tell your where to go). But mind you, based on your city and the VO, the waiting times could be anywhere between 4-6 weeks. Secondly, you don't need to apply for your PR Card separately. All new PR holders will be sent a PR Card automatically after the landing is complete. The current waiting time for your PR Card is 100 days..

I hope that makes sense..
Good luck

I'll be in the Winnipeg area soon, just got my COPR today in the mail. It'll be a few weeks, then when I get business finalized here I'll be Canadian bound permanently this time!

Are call Canadian cities "Port of Entry?" ? Or only major cities like Toronto and Vancouver? Can I do the first time landing formalities in Winnipeg via taking a flight via USA then Winnipeg?

Any international airport or land border would do..

Hello all ,

Just a couple of questions , if someone could help . So , for Alberta --

1) Which is the closest border and best option for landing in terms of smooth process without any hassle . Which one is better - Carway or Coutts , what are their working hours for landing process?

2) What all documents we need to carry with us at the border ?

3) Can we do landing on weekends or weekdays are the best options ?

4)If someone accompanies us , how does it work out ? ( I mean does that person sit in the car , does that person need any documents for own )

5) Do we need to carry anyother application forms ( like PR CARD application , SIN application etc )

6) Do they give us SIN number at the border ?

Answer to all these questions would be much appreciated .

Thanks in advance.
