I want to find out that...When I checked my ECAS its says that they have started my application on October 7th 2013. What does that mean? How long does it take to get PPR from here?

Any response will be apprecaite.

Couple months at least.. If you are done with medical, paid RPFP etc. at least 3-5 months.

Thanks Holygun.
Yes my Medical was done in Jan 2013, police certificate in May 2013 and rest everything done. Still will it be around 3-5 months? My medical will expire in Feb some time. Will that be a problem. ?

If you are in Canada they will extend it. If you are outside or any relatives outside. They need to redo medical

@ Holygun, have you met your area MP today? How did it go?

I have not yet... I will go after 5PM...

The thing is am not suppose to do anything there.. Just sign a consent letter, for their own records.

I got a call from MP's office (assistant called me)

Said that, contacted CIC and was told that:

"MY FILE WAS IN BUFFALO and IT IS NOW TRANSFERRED TO OTTAWA"

This is 1000000000000000000000% WRONG. My file was never transferred to Buffalo and never got back to Ottawa. The CIC agent is just FUNNY. I have the proof of it, I have 6 GCMS and 7th one is on its way... Never been to Buffalo...

Anyways: Then they told MP's assistant that they will contact with Ottawa and get back to him with-in 7 (seven) days. MP's assistant mentioned that they will review everything on file and get back to him... (I personally doubt 10000000000000000% that they will review my file.

FINGERS CROSSED!!!

I just got another call from MP's Office:

CIC called them back saying that, sorry the info we gave you is wrong previously, (thanks god somebody is doing his/her job correctly) The file is in OTTAWA.

All spousal addition stuff was completed, The file was updated on Oct. 18, 2013.

Pending Criminal and Security checks, I will be getting an update by Nov. 17, 2013.

And they also said it is with-in processing time... COME ON, website shows 16 months and they say 21 months is less than 16 months.... WROOONG.

Am glad that at least one or two guys are doing their job correctly.

Fingers crossED!!!! Hope I do not need to contact with them again.

Meanwhile I applied to GCMS October 17, I will get an update around November 17 any ways....

:P :P :P :P :P :P :P

Holygun, expect your PPR anytime from now. I believe you will get it before Nov 17. It is true that your file was transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa. In my GCMS notes after my application went in process, I discovered that the files of Buffalo and Ottawa applicants were placed on separate shelves at CPP-O. This explains why Post July 2012 applicants got faster processing compared to pre June 2012 applicants. The officers have to move the file from the Buffalo shelf to the Ottawa shelf before it is processed. If you look at my profile, you will see that I wrote about 2 file transfers. One from CIO to Ottawa (Buffalo) and the other within Ottawa (Buffalo to Ottawa in their own imagination).
Immediately the MP contacted them, they realized they've been wrong all these while. They know that they've delayed you for too long. I guess one officer forgot to do his/her work properly by skipping your file.

All the best man. I won't be surprised if you get PPR tonight.

Hi coshx, Thx for good thoughts....

But honestly, my file never been to Buffalo, since day 1 it was in Ottawa. CIO received on Feb 17 and transfered to Ottawa on March 1st. I got my AOR from Ottawa.

Even GCMS shows OTtawa from day 1... So I don't believe my file has passed the border before :)

Hope to get good news soon...

Holygun, do you know my application was received at CIO on the same day as yours (Feb 17)? Our files were also transferred to Ottawa on the same day (Mar 26). When files were transferred to Ottawa, they mentioned in the AOR that your application is for Buffalo but being processed in CPP-O. CPP-O was just a temporary processing office as at then and Buffalo issues the PR visa. When Ottawa was turned into a visa office, they created a new shelf for all Ottawa applicant. Your file never went to Buffalo Office in US. Instead, it was on a Buffalo File Shelf at CPP-O. Each Buffalo file has to be moved from the Buffalo shelf @ CPP-o to the Ottawa shelf before it is processed. That's what I can figure from my GCMS notes but I don't know if the cases of others are different.
