I am already in Canada as a foreign worker. For me, becoming a permanent resident equals acquiring real freedom !

but they are driving me nuts with their slowness thats why i ignore it !

you are right, nothig will change , except

1) I can talk to my boss about a promotion and salary increase
2) After working 60 hours a week, I would not have stress for work permit
3) I wont have to fight with banks/ credit companies because my SIN starts with '9'
4) I will stop checking my email 10 times a day, atleast
5) I can go on a vacation like a normal person and can come back knowing everything will be same
6) Honorable minister wont change the rules ion next 6 months as he did for Marriage ones
7) I will know that this is my country and I will look for progress, buying a house, a good car,.,. better facilities..
8) Can do some professional courses to grow in myu work field here in Canada like Project Management without applying for study permit


I can write 100 moire reasons, but I believe these are enough

i came here june 2008 looking for a new country .. regardless where i came from ... i spent 3 and half years as a student spending about 200,000 CADs as a full time student including college, rent, food and other... so to be PR will make my life..... and i totally agree with you ..... with respect to others who consider the PR is useless...why did you apply in the first place...why did you bother your self ???....if my country offers me same as canada or little bit less...i wouldnt apply for PR

Its brutal..I got AOR on 25th April, submitted my medicals on 1st of may 2012, still waiting for my PPR.

Its been mentioned in E-amil that I will be getting PPR in 120 days, its been more than 185 days and I haven't heard anything :-X :-\ from them yet

I have had that reply 3 times in past. I dont know you ever came acros my old posts or not, I called the contact number mentioned in the E-mail signature of my VO and been told that she has left the job and they cant provide me any status update on my application.

I have applied for GCMS and waiting for a reply
