Which office sent you PPR, Ottawa or Buffalo?

If, and most likely, it is Ottawa, that will be a dramatic change in the procedure because normally, in the old way, Ottawa will forward your file to Buffalo and only Buffalo has the right to issue PPR and Visa stamp. Now, it looks like Ottawa can do the same as Buffalo. It is not clear if they will do the same for the applicants in the U.S. If so, it will speed up the process and every body knows Buffalo will take long long time to complete the process and also forward to local VO in the U.S. to initiate PPR. Will see what is going to happen.

For all the folks with Buffalo VO: Please timely update your E-CAS as soon as your status show "In process," which means they are starting to work on your case now. No "In process," no PPR. In Karlzw case, PPR after 2 month "In process." So pls update your case here if news come out.

No, that is not true.
In my AOR from Ottawa it has been mentioned that Buffalo is responsible for PPR and PR.

I cannot be happier if they are doing as what you said. That will be really making difference. Do you have some hard eveidences to share with us regarding the procedure change?

Well you can see that this is not true since buffalo sent me the AOR, MR and PPR.

I just got the email.................I got my PR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So your AOR/MR sent from Buffalo, not Ottawa? Most, if not all, of folks with Buffalo VO received AOR/MR from Ottawa.

Karlzw, did the PPR email also mention that you could go to the visa office to have the visa stamping done in person? I thought they only accepted immigration-related stuff by mail...

They say in one of the links that you can go there yourself to pick it up but I found out it's a 20 hour round trip from montreal so I'll just use Fedex.

if you go to buffalo to stamp, you do both stamping and landing with one trip: one stone two birds?
