Thanks, I guess that means they put it in a queue when it arrives and look at it on a 'first in first out' basis.

Don't think there would be a queue as such .. Coz there are several case officers.. N depends on the speed with which they process d documents .. Some might take time .. Some might process it faster .. So really can't expect how it works .. Cos my cousin applied for MPNP 2 months after I did .. But he got loa one week after I got mine .. So doesn't really make sense .. All we can do is be patient at this stage and wait :)

Hi guys,

Anyone here sent their document to CIO via DHL?? Coz I sent mine via DHL and it was delivered on the 5th, but I just checked again, and it shows it was delivered at Hallifax, I called DHL and they said that it was delivered at Hallifax, but Hallifax is like 400 kms away from sydney, anyways.. I have put in a request to dhl and they said, they will get back to me tomorrow, so will let you guys know once I get to know as well, in the meantime, if anybody has the same issue, do let me know .. cheers.. :)

Hi dicoy323,

Thanks for getting back at me on this one.. I just got a call from one of the customer care rep of DHL, and they did track down my application and they confirmed that they the application has been delivered in Sydney, Nova Scotia and not at Hallifax and the reason why it shows hallifax on the tracking system is that because, they only have their processing centre in Halifax in NS and dont have one in sydney, and which was why there was a delay from the the processing time from the date it arrived at halifax and then delivered to sydney.. as it is 400 kms away from halifax.. but they confirmed and signed off saying that it was delivered in sydney on the date showed on the online tracking... hope this helps .. cheers.. :)

Hi, when you sent applications to CIO, how you handle these following issues? Please help:

1) For the college degree not earned in Canada and US, should we need to have third party to certify/evaluate ? Per CIC check list, no such requirements. It seems to me that copies of degree or diploma are ok, unless they request the original later if they want to. But some posts in the forum elsewhere mentioned that we need to submit the certified diplomas by your national degree evaluation committee. Please advise me.
2) Previous Buffalo office required to submit the original PNP nomination letter. Now this requirement has changed to copy of nomination letter. Please comment this change.
3) New procedure allows paying by credit card for the application fees. Any thoughts about the pros and cons of credit card method, instead of money order?
4)Did you send copy of your spouse transcripts and diploma?
5)How long your money order valid?

Please share your opinions.

Finally - i submitted my files to CIO just today 2012-01-10. Kindly include me in your database sett, thanks...

There's no requirement for an evaluation/verification unless your degree was earned in China according to the CIC checklist, so you should be fine with copies of the degree/diploma and the transcripts. All copies must be certified as per instruction on the application guide, i.e. by a Notary Public...etc...

2) Previous Buffalo office required to submit the original PNP nomination letter. Now this requirement has changed to copy of nomination letter. Please comment this change.

I would throw away the Buffalo office requirements, they are no longer valid with the new process, go with the revised checklist for PNP applications. They only want a copy of nomination letter at this stage and may/may not request the original at a later date.

3) New procedure allows paying by credit card for the application fees. Any thoughts about the pros and cons of credit card method, instead of money order?

Well, if you use your credit card as most people do, you'll need to make sure there are always adequate funds on it to cover the cost of your application. This can be a little tricky given you don't know when CIC will attempt to charge your card. I'd say it would be safer to send a bank draft/money order to cover yourself as they will return your application if they can't charge your card.

4)Did you send copy of your spouse transcripts and diploma?

As per checklist, only the principal applicant needs to send these documents.

5)How long your money order valid?

6 months I think, you should hear back from them within 6 month at the latest...hopefully!

Please share your opinions.

Hello,

See my responses in red, hope that helps.
