Just checked my wife's passport and found out that it will expire this coming September.
I am thinking of not to renew it since she is not the principal applicant and besides, she is already here in Canada. Mine will expire next year. What do you think guys?is this a right decision?
Would greatly appreciate your comments.

what do you think guys? should we pay rprf now or should we wait for the separate email for rprf request? thanks

I have paid already when I submitted my application, I still got the email exactly like your format. I think you should pay it asap to avoid delay.

I think your wife should renew her passport
here is the email that I received from cic

PASSPORTS

Passports for you and all accompanying family members must be valid at the time of visa issuance. If your passports have expired or will be expiring within the next 6 months, you must apply for new passports as soon as possible. You can send a Copy of the Biodata Page (page with photograph and name) to the following facsimile number or addresses below.

Do not send Original Passports until requested By CIC.
hope this will help ;D
