hi,
i needed to ask a very question about family class sponsorship. my question is that in the cic site it is written that if there is no eligible person to be sponsored in a sponsor's family he/she can sponsor any relative .my question is that my maternal aunt is a canadian citizen and she lives in toronto and my sister is a widow and lives in pakistan now can my aunt sponsor my sister since there is no other eligible person in the family and sher wants my sister to come to canada...plz tell me what are the prospects and procedures involved. thanks

Hmmm, I am interested in PMM's answer. But, your aunt has "YOU" in Canada. So, I believe she can't.

Sorry for my wrong assumption. Has your aunt got other relatives who are Canadians citizens or live in Canada (PRs)?

Hi

i mean she has her own family i mean her kids and husband no one else ...what relations fall in this category.
Then she is out of luck. The only way that you can use that section of sponsoring another relative, is
1. You are single never married, and have no children.
2. Your parents/grandparents are deceased.
3. You don't have a brother/sister/aunt/uncle/niece/nephew in Canada.

See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/business/index.asp but the processing time is as long, if not longer than Skilled worker.
2. If she is applying as a skilled worker, she should look into getting an employer in Canada to submit an Labour Market Opinion request to HRSDC . If it was approved, then she would be able to work in Canada on a work permit, and her SW application would receive priority.
3. She may wish to look at the PNP programs in the various provinces to see if her skills fall into their occupations under demand, which if accepted would again speed up the application.
