Hi Folks

MY documents have been sent since 11th May 2009 and my ecas still shows "in-process" since 7th July. I sent them an email to check wether I missed any correspondence from London-Office and they replied with "routine background-ckeck is ongoing". I received their reply from 40 days ago. According to their AOR letter if I did not receive any correspondence from them after 8 months from the date of the AOR letter then I have to contact them later.

MY second question now is there any possibility that the background check loops forever especially under the new rules. Also my second question do I need to contact them again after 8 months will be finished (from the date of the AOR letter) or their reply to my last email will be considered as a kind of correspondence from them.

Third question if they are doing background-check why they did not contact my direct empolyer yet? Also if they are doing background-check regarding my qualifications why they did not contact my currect institution where I am studying PhD here in UK in one of the best universities of UK where they already recognised my previous qualifications in order to be eligible to study PhD. Also I already funded from my governement that is a trivial indication that my qualification are not fake and also that I already passed the security background check in my country.

Hint: all the document regarding my current study and funding of my government are provided in the set of the full document that have been sent to the London office.

Please share your opinion and your suggestionsas I am really panic and the current situation affects on my future and especially
on my study.

Hint The maximum duration for London office request for medical test is 4 months "according th the trackitt.com" from the date of the AOR letter.

Your opinion are much appreciated.

Cheers

Please I am waiting for your input.

1. It is probably the security check that is taking the time. It all depends on your citizenship and where you have resided previously. Canada does it own security checks. There is no "maximum time" , security checks by CSIS have no input from Immigration and they take as long as they take.

thank you PMM for your input, but they said they are doing background check.
Security check is a background check, there are 3 employment/education, criminality and security.

Thank you PMM for your clarification. I am actually from Iraq and reside in UK, so do you think the background check will loop forever, because I know some Iraqis they are waiting for background check from 3 years (under the system.

Thanks

It will take quite a while for the security check to be completed as you are an Iraqi.
