Me too... 1 &1/2 packs a day [not drinking though].

No issues, until u have any ailment.
1. Drink lots & lots of water before u go for the meds.
2. Avoid non-veg over night. Better still, liquid diet [soups et all].

That's about it & u'll be thru successfully.
Qorax.

Relax........ You will be fine for x-ray, but think about quitting smoking for your own health. Good luck!

Smoking and drinking is not prohibited under any country's immigration laws and as such these acts will not disqualify you.
However, the after effects of these acts on your health (body as a whole), may lead to a disqualification. These have to be diagnosed first though. If you are without any problems and If you pass the medicals then, surely you will get the visa.
Unless, you are already suffering from any conditions which may have resulted from the effects of the above acts.
Just a piece of advice, it's never too late to quit smoking though and of course reduce the amount of drinking too.:-*
Good Luck.

I agree with Qorex and all others advising you to quit.

I myself have been a very Heavy Smoker for a long time and I did quit it last year.

Smoking as well as drink has unfavourable and ill effects on your health and sometimes it may ruin your health.

Although it seems very difficult to quit, it was as easy as 123 to quit for me when I decided when the moment of decesion came. This might interst you that I smoked unintruptedley for 33 years smoking not less than 20 Cigarettes a day and usually ( Maybe 4-6 Days a week) 40 to 50 cigarettes. When the time to quit arrived - it was mere decesion taken during a single puff at the end of which I decided to quit and am now non smoker for 1+ year enjoying good health.

So, my brother I would like you to join me and enjoy a good health - not ignoring the Happiness your Family would get.

I hope it helps.

Always Hopeful

Hopeful Canadaian

My Past experience said that Smoking dosnt create any prob but sometimes smoking created bad condition to your lungs by the time you taken your medical. When I went to Canada as a student some chain smokers with bad lungs condition were rejected for potential burden to Canadian Government.

Quit Smoking now and get your lungs checked now by an independent Doctor.

I never knew this site even existed. Lotsa news here. I am at a stage of medicals.

Even I need some clarifications on the same. I also smoke and drink. Dunno what the medics are going to be ?

Also there was a question which said ..Did you have any operation?I had an accident long time back which warranted a operation and had stitches on my shoulder. So I had marked the remark to that question as a Yes. I am perfectly back to normal and am not taking any medicines. Will that affect my medicals. Please provide your valuable suggestions.

No problems there. It's not a medical inadmissibility issue, if u do not have any handicaps due to it.

it can be too much when your test reports and blood smaple start showing any negatives. better have your tests now before original medical to check everything is fine. thanks
