Hey Gur4deepgur4deep said:Hi,
I applied for humber college in Enterprise Software Solutons ( Software development) .for sep session under SPP,
i got 7.5 in ielts and i have done BCA with 84%. I got refused from the chandigarh embassy. the reason was that
my proposed course is not realted to my previous study and employement...
the course is totally related to my field .I Don't know why they refused my visa...I want to reapply again for the visa but i can't do that under spp so i decieded to apply for January session. But my course is only available for september session. For that i hv to wait for 1yr .
Plz suggest me what should i do ?
should i apply for some another course in january session?
or apply for the same course under general category of sutdent visa?
would it be ok to change my course ?
plz help

I empathize with you and buddy it is such a shame that genuine and Brilliant students like you are being refused by the CHC.
Students (like harmanmeet) who were refused under SPP have applied again under General/Non SPP process and I recently read that a guy who was refused and applied again has got the visa also.
Given some of the the guys have applied and got the visa but you must consider the following points and understand the risk before you make another application
1) Time - NON-SPP application takes almost or rather more than a month to be processed and its almost AUGUST now so GOD only knows if your application will be processed in time or not ( and obviously the embassy is already loaded with applications (maybe thats why SPP applications are taking time)
2) Course- They have refused you b'coz they think your course does not match with your previous education so evn if you apply again your course is gonna be the same (so you could face the same refusal) and the only additional thing would be an SOP (statement of purpose) which I DO NOT FEEL MAKES MUCH DIFFERENCE TO AN APPLICATION AS EMBASSY NEVER ASKS FOR IT AND WHEN WE SUBMIT IT, IT TENDS TO BE IGNORED(I GUESS) but still a couple of guys have done it and awaiting the outcome so you might wanna use your own discretion/judgement here and see if you wanna try your luck buddy.
3)SESSION- you can go for JAN session - YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR COURSE WHICH WOULD BE RATHER BETTER COZ THATS WHAT THEY WANT AND THATS WHY YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN A REFUSAL (make sure you choose the relevent/related/similar course in JAN)
I think i have penned down what i should So now its entirely upto you if you want to apply again or not..
ALL THE VERY BEST BUDDY
Cheers

my dear friend,
in the refusal letter, embassy asked that, if u apply again then u have to submit the supporting documents to clarify the rejection point , otherwise we would not consider the file,
so in case of proposed study, exp. language abilities kind of rejection point , we can only attached sop and a letter to visa officer, because this is the only way to give the justification in this rejection point.
because we have already submitted exp. letter, dmc's, ielts test sheet,. so this is the only way to clear this point in this kind of rejection.
good luck to u bro.
Its not an issue of the course buddy....it is totally related to your previous qualification and job...i guess they might have rejected as you are over qualified for this course in humber...you have already studied in BCA all the modules that are taught in this course you have planned to get into...as i have also applied to the same course to humber - information technology solutions (enterprise development profile)..if you go through the course content of both the course the only difference between the two is the no. of years...your course is of 2 sem and mine is of 4 sem...we share the last 2 sem....my educational qualifications are i am a BCOM graduate...so no chance of any computer stuff in commerce....secondly i have done a diploma in soft engnrng from niit...yup i do agree that i also have studied computers but i have studied deeply the course content of my diploma and the one that i have applied to humber...and i found the course to be different from what i have already studied in my diploma in software engrng.... and i have got my visa...obviously bcom degree is not related to computers but a software eng diploma is...and apart from that i am going to study something new that i have not studied yet...and they gave me i visa...this is just a rough guess that i am making...as both of our case are same...we are going to same college same course the only difference is you are highly qualified than me...a BCA is better than BCOM..and i dont have any job experience as you have as a web developer...so may be the visa officer might have thought that you must be over qualified for this course...so when you submit your file again...do mention a reason for your over qualification also...i think that might help you to clear any doubts of visa officer if they have any...gur4deep said:Hi,

Buddy since you have applied again with everything same except SOP so i don't want to mention anything as such which may create some doubt in your mind regarding the success of your application and dampen your spirit. but just to let you know friend SOP is never required,Show me even a single document from Embassy/VFS where it is mentioned that SOP can be submitted in additon to your documents(or to explain yourself or justify some point).Try and see if you can prove to me that it is considered an official document and
visa officer reads it.
Harman we shall wait for your visa and then I shall post more points to clarify if an SOP is required or not.
I sincerely hope the positive outcome for you.

u didn't get my point,
i said that in this kind of rejection(studies, empl. language abilities), u can only attach a nice sop and a letter to visa officer to clear the rejection point about previous studies and employment,
there is no other way to clarify this point because we have already attached our employment letter and qualification dmc's,and ielts test too,
so they can check the dmc's of our subjects and can clear that point , but if they can't then we have to attach a nice sop and a letter to visa officer regarding interview.
one more thing i want to clear u ,
i have not attached only a sop and a letter to visa officer in this 2nd time , i have attached lot of documents,
1. my ielts test score,
2. offer letter
3. fees receipt
4. 10 lakh loan letter
5. nice sop
6. a letter to visa officer regarding clarification and interview
7. parents income tax returns and form n. 16 of last 3 years.
8. parents salary statement
9. parents service certificate
10. g.pf of parents (8 lakh)
11. ppf of parents ( 2 lakh)
12. lic policy of parents and elder brother (1 lakh)
13 . property documents ( 37 lakh)
14 . elder brother's service and salary certificate
15. brother's f.d( 1 lakh 50 thousand)
16 . mother's bank account statement
17. my qualification documents
18. my exp. letter
i have attched all these documents when i applied my file in 2nd time under general process.
on 21st june 2010
we r 4 members in our family , nd except me all three r govt. employees and well settled
so after doing all these things i can expect visa with lots of hope.
