ur academics is not bad ..64% is ok for PG diploma however ur experience is in totally unrelated field that could create a problem. U should select something related to IT but again ur education and experience r in conflict. ur going for education so ur education profile matters more than ur work profile.

you are right as what I did in my grads has nothing to do with my exp. I have my exp majority in IT sales nd marketing. I do not know see any relevance of pursuing a course in IT (that will be like changing my career completely).

Hi our profile is pretty similar.
Have a look at this thread on how i got my visa

Hey

In Canada overall profile matters not only academics I am sure they would consider your work experience as well there are many colleges in Canada, my advise at least apply to a couple of colleges below is a link to view a list of them

let me know if you need any other help

thanks guys! but I am considering to apply in lakeland college the most reason being I have a family friend who stays in Llyodminister. Does ne one know if it falls in SPP program?

And also the most important question is if my choice of the course has ne thing to do with what I studied in my bachelors? The course I intend to pursue has a lot to do with my work exp rather then what I did in my grads?

I plan to take IELTS in October though.

ur education in IT & experience in sales n marketing you need to explain in very detail way in your SOP . Also regarding experience donot think much provide experience letter, joining letter ,salary slip & all the things related to your job with your application.

I was having same doubt as i am having 9 years of experience n i got visa also.

Stay positive.

I am not sure what ur case is but does ur course match ur past education if yes then u have less chance to get course msimatch as a rejection reason. Now there is always a slight possibility that u can get lucky and get visa with a mismatch too however applying based on u being lucky is not the right thing to do. So if u have already applied hope u get lucky but if ur not then try to make ur case as strong as possible.

Hey Emily,

I understand your reasons for choosing this college .. but rem its a matter of your carrier and I still think you should consider some more options even concordia is in alberta and not so far and you can apply for a masters there.

Yes, your college does fall under SPP brand names..
