plz help: my fiancee is in canada on study visa. how to apply 4 visa b4 marriage

Hi,

i and my fiancee are from Chandigarh (India). He went to do his MS to Canada in September 2015 (Fall).
He has study visa and work permit.
we are planning to get married in December. And when we get married , i want to go with him just after getting married. Please tell me all options to do that. Be it visitor visa or court marriage before December
or any other options. Also please tell the procedure for each and every option. Plus how much time it will take me to get visa..if it is visitor or dependant visa. Also please tell me how to get settled with my fiancee
after marriage before or after he gets PR.

Before marriage, you can apply for a visa to visit him while after marriage, you can apply for a visa based on his study permit in order to stay with him for the duration of his studies and you can apply for an open work permit. Of course you need to show that you will not overstay in Canada.

If you are already married by the time he applies for PR, whether you are then in Canada with him or not, he should include you on his PR application and you will get PR at the same time.

You can go on a visitor visa before or after the marriage. They usually give you 6 months. From inside Canada, you can apply for the open work permit.

The processing time of the visit visa depends on your home country. The processing time for a work permit from inside Canada when you apply online you can see here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp.asp and is currently 38 days.

When you apply for a work permit, you automatically apply for a TRV as well so applying to extend your visit visa while in Canada is irrelevant if you apply for an OWP.

If you do not want an OWP and only want to extend your visit visa, you can do that. The processing time is on the same link I already posted, 41 days right now for a TRV extension if you apply online.

How much time does it take to get PR when my fiancee will get the job? Kindly tell the PR processing time for me too if he applies for my PR along with his after marriage. And does that mean till the time I get PR, I would have to leave Canada as I LL b on visitor visa?
