Dear

I have received my Permanent residency Visa. We are planning for our first landing soon Now We are three in our family, Me, Wife and my 8 month old child. Now my question is, Is it ok if we all go together first time and in week time my wife comeback to drop my child back to India and then she comeback again alone. and then we can bring our child after sometime when we are settled down in Canada.

If that's fine, Is my wife and child need to have PR Card while travelling back to India.

Pls Advise

Thanks

Hi,

You can do that. Of course they need PR card to return back. If she cannot wait for a month to get the PR card and leave Canada, you should send her in a secured method ( reliable courier) once you get the cards.

Thanks

So If she needs PR card to return back so is it ok for her to come back without it(means is it legally ok as she might have baby with her also). and what should I tell IO at the POE if they ask that how long you are going to live.

Pls advise.

Hi,

I think you should not take risk and you all stay in Canada till you all get your PR Cards. If your wife comes back to India without having PR she may have to show some sort of documents (in the absence of PR Card) and when she again goes to Canada with baby she will be having PR Card (How). Option given by wilson is risky (my opinion).

Let seniors throw some light.

Good Luck.

She and the baby are going out of Canada with their passports, after landing. it is legal to travel. I don't think it is necessary to tell this plan to the Immigration at the POE. The PR card is required only while re-entering Canada. Me and wife went Dubai after five weeks of landing with our PR Cards. I never told the IO that we will get out immediately after getting the PR. So, take it easy.

As chaminder mentioned, no one need to varify PR Card when arriving India. The Immigration and Customs will see only Passports. But when returning to Canada there should be PR Card with the traveller because it is the only authority to land in Canada. I suggested the wife and child may stay till get their PR Cards. If not possible to wait the other alternative is that the PR Cards should be send by safe method, which is usually done by several immigrants here.

I want to clear that ideology behind this plan is just because I dont want my 8 month baby to suffer with us when we are trying to settling down in Canada. so I can get my child for stamping and then drop her back to India for sometime and then take her back while we are settle down. So from my side am not doing anything wrong pls throw some opinion on this and plan how can I do it another way if any.

Your option is perfectly Ok. Just ensure that u obtain your wife's & kid's PR cards [while u r yet residing back in Canada] & send them by post/courier to their hometown. She can use that to come back alone later & u guys can re-travel to get your kid at an opportune moment.

She & the kid might also return w/out a PR card by obtaining a PRTD (travel doc) from your local CHC by paying $50.00, but what's the point? U r staying back in Canada anyway. So, u might as well receive their cards too alongwith yours.

About notifying anything to the officer at the POE or CIC or CHC: Do not bother. It's not required.

Hope that helps.

NO. U don't need the PR card to travel back from Canada to overseas.

But, returning w/out the PR card will not be possible, due to airline restrictions. U can safely drive back though [eg. thru US] by using your COPR.

I believe your Visa wll be valid for 1 year from the date of issue...why dont u postpone your travel itself...Hopefully by that time the Market also will be up and would be easy to settle.

JUST AN THOUGHT.

I apologize for digressing from topic but could not resist from sharing my thoughts with my friend laxmikanthms.

I believe it will always be tough even if market improves without Candian exp under our belt. So thoughts of timing the market looks optimistic to me ;)

I would rather time my arrival during end of spring so that I can brave the weather during job search.
