How long is too long ?

After going through the nightmare. I would like to see appeals in Toronto processed faster......28 months to get a hearing date is not acceptable. We can do better ! :D

I would say that vast majority of standard spousal cases (no red flags) should be done under a year. Ones with red flags should be 18-24 months MAX. Anything over 2 years is just ridiculous, even if the applicants home country is slow with providing info.

Looks like one can attribute processing times to many factors. Location, nationality, accuracy on documentation, cooperation of other country, the office or officer handling your file and probably being fortunate or lucky as well.

Mine I feared will take longer than many because my file would transfer back and forth between two embassy which one can assume will add several months or longer to the process. So rather take the embassy with the short process time of 8 months we will stay with my country of citizenship with an average time of 15 months. I am hoping we are fortunate enough to be making the right decision.
