UPDATE: we received the clearance letter in the mail today.

It was dated Oct 18, 2011 and we just received it today...seems like the processing time is a lenghty one.

Either way im happy we received it today.

Admirable - hopefully you will receive your's soon, especially if we were on the same timeline.

Congrats alf+jlh! Wonder why it took almost a month for you to get it from the date of the letter!? May I ask when they charged your credit card? Ours was charged Nov 1st, so hoping it should be on its way soon!

We actually sent a money order...i just know that they received it on Sept 12, it was processed on Oct 18 and delivered in my hands Nov 15.

The reason it took so long to be sent to us was because we had a return FedX number that was wrong so they delayed it and decided to mail it... also we had them mail it to Canada instead of his address in the states.

Hopefully you will get your letter soon... but shoot for an 8 week expectation so as not to get disappointed.

I sent mine in July 2011 did not get it back until then end of September. It was almost a month old by the time I received it back ! Good luck everyone !
Also was sent from Ohio and return to Ohio.

we sent in my husbands on the 21 of September and got a letter from them on the 8th of November saying that the payment page was wrong so we faxed it back to them on the 10th and they took the payment out lastnight. Now we are keeping our fingers crossed that it will be here in the next week or two

i finally got fbi certificate.
it was sent to me on Nov 21st. Although the search was completed on Oct 27.
Initially i applied on sept 20. so about 3 months in total.

Congrats! Must be such a relief! I hope this means ours will come this week, as they received our request on Sept 30!

Sent it for my wife in late May, got it back in late July, so pretty much 8 weeks.

Does anyone else have a time line from when they took the money out of your account till you got your report? We sent my husbands prints in on Sept 21 and had to re-fax the payment paper on the 10th of November and they took the money out of our account on the 18th of November but haven't heard anything yet. I'm just worried that we are going to get it back and it already be two months old and then have to rush to get everything sent in! Thanks!!

ours showed up as

CHECKCARD **** FBI RECORD REQUEST ***-***-**** WV ***********************
but numbers instead of *'s

Ours finally came on Dec 3. FBI recieved it on Sept 30. On the letter it says check was completed on Nov 3, and his credit card was charged on Nov 1st. Funny how it took two days from charging the card to completing the check, and then an additional MONTH until we had it in hand. :
