Hi

My mother applied as Princial Applicant for FSW visa in 2004 but I suppose they scraped backlog and we will get our refund back.
Regardless-My younger bro is a student in canada, doing MS in Toronto and my mother wishes to be with him this summer on a visitor visa.
Can she apply and get one,coz people have been telling us that as she had applied for FSW in 2004 its impossible for her to get into canada as a tourist.

IS there any rule which states that people who have/had applied for FSW can not get visit visa.

Replies much appreciated and thanx 2 all.

Yep...
There is no such rule. Only the problem arises that the applicant applying for temp visa has intentions of living permanently, as shown by applying for PR. For temp they usually look that the person will have roots and will come back.

So basically in your mom's case, she has got nothing to loose by applying for temp visa if she wants to.... No effect on present or future PR applications.

Hi
I hope so... But you know as well, what we think is irrelevant, it would be upon the Visa Officer to decide.
Like I said, she has nothing to loose by applying, so why not.
Best of Luck.
