My PGWP got rejected on the grounds on incomplete fees. I was given 1 year and still had 2 years remaining to get. Since the processing time was over 90 days from when I applied and got the response, I am told to leave Canada immediately. I am unable to get an LMIA from my employer and my only option seems to apply for a PR card from outside Canada.

Should I reopen/ plea for my work permit to be reconsidered and ask CIC if I can pay the remaining fee? Will that work? Lawyers have said no.

I will be apply for Express entry under CEC ASAP aswell.

If I leave now, how long will it take for me to come back. I am forced to leave my job, home, everything that I have build here because of this error.

Please help! What are my options?

Hi there,

IF you're supposed to get a three-year work permit but only got one year instead due to some problem, you should try to apply for one again. Just include the explanation/rejection letter that you received from CIC before (The letter that indicated the reason why you were only given one year) in the application package, and also write a good submission letter. Try it first.

The letter I received says that i am no longer eligible to apply for restoration of temporary status. So I will reply back to this letter but can I still apply for the same PGWP again ?

I am going to apply for PR now. waiting to collect all documents. How long did the entire process take from the time you applied to got ITA and then finally PR?

Congrats on being back!!

No chance for me to get LMIA. (employer has said no for now)

depends, it could be as little as 3 months to about roughly 9 months (if you have an invitation to apply). If you don't have ITA, it will all depends on your score.
