Please Help.

I have applied at the Algouqin College and I have been told that I will be accepted despite my low grades at high school.
I am concerned about the chances the visa officer to issue a study permit.?

I do have enough funds to sustain myself in Canada and my aunt is a canadian citizen,so she is willing to sponsor me as well.
I have finished high school of economics,25 years old and I am applying for tourism and Hospitality program(2 years)
Should I apply for study permit or should I not bother at all? Please help me

Where are you from? I mean, which passport do u have?
It depends on nationality, the visa officer may check your high school grade or not.

Hello, I'm 25 and from venezuela and i finish high school 2007 but I study Civil Engineering in a university and now I want to study a 2 year course on Pastry and Bakery in GBC Toronto. Is there any chance I get an approval on my visa solicitation? I'm applying through an agent here in Venezuela. Also, anyone knows if is it easy to find a part time job???

It is possible to get student visa on low grades but it also depends how you present your file to visa officer.

It is not an excellent idea... I dont see that there is a connection between civil engineering and pastry and bakery for your career....Sometimes, Canada can refuse your study permit application, because of mismatch ... It's better to search similar study related to civil engineering. I know, my friend got a lucky and then they are studying in Canada. However, the Canada made a stricter law for international students after 2014. If I were you, I will study a master degree for civil engineering in order to make sure to get a visa.

It depends on how low the grades are. How low are they? I had 66 percent and had no problem getting a Visa. My friend has 55 percent and he got refused once but got it the second time he tried just after 4 months. Also, I am not sure if you require to submit your IELTS score or not, but if you are required to, get a good score on that. Trust me, a good IELTS score could make all the difference in the world. Also, if there is a gap between high school graduation and student application to Canada, be sure to explain that gap. If you have any experience in customer service or hospitality industry, that would be a positive point as well.

When it comes to funding, see if you can get a student loan. That is another point that makes a lot of difference. I am not sure if your Aunt could be considered an a sponsor or not so I wont comment on that. Perhaps she could be the guarantor for your student loan. Best of luck to you man. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the response and for the helpful tips.
Well here in Macedonia we have a different grade system,a very complicated one.Let's say my grades converted to the american system are mostly B.Also I do have 2 years experience in the Hospitality sector in the USA,my TOEFL IBT score was 84 of 120 but I have taken the test around 3 years ago.Is it smart to retake the test? Also should I include a copies of previous visas (US visas,Holiday trips) as a proof for travel history?
Thank you

When I applied for visa... I was never asked to present transcripts from previous educational institutions.. I mean they don't check your grades... That's your institution responsibility... But yes most people from some countries might have to present their high school grades for visa... But most of the time that is not needed

So you should have no problem at all
