Re: 2016 PGP Sponsorship

Hi,

Today I got an email from CPC Ottawa asking for Police certificates for my father and mother. They both are in India. Surprisingly the email is asking for Police clearance certificates from China (for both father & mother) and U.A.E (for my father). There is nowhere mention of PCC from India.

I can understand why they are asking police certificate from UAE for my father since he worked in UAE for few years but I am not sure why they are asking for PCC from China. Is it a mistake? Maybe they meant India? None of my parents have ever been to China.

What should I do? Should I reply back to the email and ask to clarify?

Thanks.

while you parents were working in UAE did they visit China for some training and stayed there for more than 6 months?

or it might be an error, best thing you could do is call them or send them an email. or do both of them and make sure you send the same request via canada post (hard copy )

out of curiosity

When did you apply for Parents Sponsorship (i.e. in which year?)

1. When did you submit all the Additional Documents?

2. When did they approve your sponsorship Application?

3. At which VISA office is your parents PR being processed?

4. after how many days did you receive Medical and PCC request after you file was transferred to Local VISA office

OK. I will email them back and call them too today to clarify. Do I need to request for hard copy? Most of the communication is through emails these days I believe.

1. When did you submit all the Additional Documents? This is the first time they have asked for any docs

2. When did they approve your sponsorship Application? I believe in August

3. At which VISA office is your parents PR being processed? CPC Ottawa - I am in Canada and is acting as rep for my parents

4. after how many days did you receive Medical and PCC request after you file was transferred to Local VISA office About 7 months I believe

Yes you folks are lucky.

there are lots of folks from 2010 and 2011, whose sponsorship files have not been approved or have not yet received Medical or PCC

i have applied in 2011. very simple application, strong financial background of sponsor and co-signer, small family in canada (total of 3) and sponsoring just father and mother, no dependents.

Application was filled up 100 accurately with out an mistakes. all supporting documents provided

as of today file is in Process no word yet from CIC, as of today its 5 years, its not me alone there are lots of folks like me

Dasoju,

First of all, I feel the frustration of 2008-11 years' applicants. I also think their files, considering they met all requirements, should have been processed before 2014-16 files. But it's only CIC you can blame for this. I had high regards for you especially when you maintain a Google Word for your fellow applicants. But when you bring this down to one simple thread where the poster only asked a single question, this is not acceptable. Moreover, you tried to add fuel to fire by posting his topic into 2010 and 2011 thread.

Have you ever considered these:
1) There are still some applications pending from 2008-09 period. By your rule, none of 2010-11 applications should have been processed before those got finalized.

2) Any PGP sponsor only had to provide income proof for 1 year prior to 2014. I consider this "lucky". Besides, it was only about meeting LICO, not LICO+30%.

3) Have you ever considered yourself lucky when you submitted the application right before CIC paused the whole program for 2 years? Many who applied after were waiting for 2012 & 2013 to apply. I was one of them.

4) So, when it re-opened, many found that they need to meet income requirements for 3 years (not only for 1 year). Again, I was one of them and hence had to apply in 2015.

5) And there is the quota system now. It started with 5,000 only where CIC used to get 20,000-25,000 PGP application each year. How do you call this "lucky"?

6) I hope you heard about the hurdle that all post-2014 applicants had to overcome just to make the quota. One's application needs to reach CPC-M within first few hours.

7) Finally, the processing has changed as the requirements have changed. We submit both sponsorship and PR application all together to CPC-M. This obviously expedites the processing.

If I had applied in 2011 and my file was pending, I would also get little frustrated seeing 2016 applicants getting processed faster. But I would never blame them for it. No one knew that CIC would unfold it's PGP processing like this. I'm happy to see 2016 files getting processed this fast and hope CIC stays on same path for upcoming years.

Great response. I would agree that most of the sponsors who applied between 2014 and 2016 were eligible in 2012 or later but could not apply due to program not available or new restrictions (3 year of LICO+30%) imposed when the program was introduced.
For an applicant in 2016, the actual wait time starts 3 years prior to meet financial responsibility. Even if the applicants is completed in 2016, the overall wait period is 4 years at the least.
