Hello,

I am writing here again regarding police clearance certificate. My wife is here with me in Canada and we are trying to apply for immigration. We want to get all the requirements first before sending the application. One of the requirements is Police Clearance Certificate for countries the applicant has lived for 6 months or more after the age of 18. My wife stayed in china for a while, that being said, she stayed in China January 2015 to April 2015 (3 months) then left for Malaysia, she then applied for another visa for china while in Malaysia and return to China 2015 April and left China mid August 2015 (3.5 months). We went to Chinese consulate to try get the PCC since we dont know anybody that could possibly help us obtaining PCC from China. The consulates representative told us that they cannot issue or help PCC for her since she was just a visitor and did not really stay in China for straight 6 months. I tried asking CIC for this matter but they taking so long to reply. What should we do?

Police certificates are required from all countries where you have lived for 6 months since reaching the age of 18.

since she lived only 3 months in a strech pcc wouldnt be required but you can mention it in covering letter.Normally in any country procedures for visitors is different from citizens or residents. Residents may need to go through finger printing process health process etc but visitor no.
