My sister got an interview call
From Embassy related to her study permit application. Please suggest what can she prepare
For it?

She is really nervous and do know what kind a question they gonna ask.

Here is her profile

12th: 77%
BCA: 75% - Bachelors in Computer Applicationa
MCA: 79
IELTS: 6.5 OVERALL(R & W-6, S-7, L- 7)
Experience- 2 years as Web Designer

Applied at University of Winnipeg for Web Designing diploma- 1 year
Fees: $20,000
Parents bought GIC $10,000.
I paid $10,000.00 but we only mentioned parents as sponsor.
I will be paying her rest of the fees too.
Should she carry a letter signed by me that she will staying with me when she comes here in Winniepg, canada and I will be paying for her expenses and rest of the fee?

Please advice and share if you have ever experienced an interview related to study permit application.

Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thank you

She needs to show she has sufficient bank balance + GIC to cover tuition and $10K living expenses. If you are going to be paying the rest of her fees, you need to show a bank balance that covers these fees and a letter confirming that you are ready to support her.

Questions to check genuineness

1. Why you want to do this program?
2. What benefit will it give upon returning?
3. Why not doing this course in India?
4. Why in Canada?
5. Tell your previous subjects?
6. Tell the subjects you will be studying in Canada?
7. What research have you done while finalizing this University?

As she already has experience in web designing, she has to provide good reasons for spending so much on fees in foreign country to study web designing

Thanks for your help

She is done with her interview and did not has a good experience.

There were two foreigners who interviewed her.

They were more asking about me - Why I am in Winnipeg and what am I doing here.
Why she wants to go to Canada, which school and all.

But they were not listening to what my sister was saying. Whenever she was answering their questions, within few seconds they just asked new question rather than listening to her answer first.

So, lets see what will happen.

P.S. My sister has a clear goal and is not even repeating her education. She will be studying something new (advance level web developing languages) and that too related to her education and job field. Funds are not a problem either. They might reject it based on the fact that I am already in Winnipeg, Canada.

That is the way of checking wether the applicant has clear reasons or has to think up the answers

Dont worry, if she answered everything clearly and without stuttering, the outcome should be positive

All the best pretty girl and let us know about the result!

She got refusal. Below is the reason:

Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, employment level of establishment, language abilities or your future prospects or plans.

We are going to apply again with SOP explaining how her program is relevant to prev. studies and employment and she will be studying advance level languages related to her field and how that will help her achieve her future goals.
