Please help! Have not heard from Scotiabank (for GIC) for 2 weeks!

Hi,

I'm looking at getting into Sheridan College for Project Management (Sep 2013 intake). I have submitted my GIC application form (along with signed copies of passport and acceptance from college) on 19th June, 2012. I also received a confirmation mail from them that they have received my mail, however, it's been two weeks, and I haven't got any info if the account has been created or if the application has been rejected! All the other students have at least heard from Scotiabank (either a reject or an account has been created), I am clueless about what to do now, especially since, they ask you to not send any follow-up mails... My overall IELTS score was 8 (L-9 , R-7.5, W-7.5, S-8).

Would really appreciate it if somebody can tell me how long it takes or if somebody had a similar experience...

Well according to scotiabank if there is no reply from them in 5 business days since when u applied then you can e-mail them and ask them why there is delay as they have stated in their application guide "If you have not received an email with your Investment Account Number, kindly email your query to Scotiabank to newaccount@scotiabank.com stating Subject: Follow up- Scotiabank Student GIC Program – Last Name, First Name and Date of Birth (dd/mm/yyyy) to help us investigate and respond"

For me it took a 10 business days to open the account after sending the application. After that they gave the transfer details and account number. For transferring the money and to get the receipt it took 5 business days for me.

I applied for the account on the same date .ie. 19th June and haven't heard from them. Might be a coincidence but I have the same IELTS score too.. lol. Kindly let me know if you hear from them.
