Dear Friends,

I am in the process of filling up the applications and have the below questions. Please help me.

IMM0008_Generic Application form
#10 – My WP extension process is ongoing right now. What should be the “To” date for current country of residence?

IMM0008_Schedule 8_Economic Classes
#9 - My WP extension is under process now. What should be the “To” date for determining the work experience in Canada since I am going to continue my work while the WP application is under processing?
#9 - Should the occupation in Economic Classes – Canadian Experience Class (IMM 0008-Schedule 8) be in accordance with what is printed on my previous work permits or the actual role which I am doing?

IMM5669_Background Declaration
#7 (Education) – I have completed 5 yrs of primary school, 5 yrs of secondary school and 6 years of university/college in India. Can you please tell me what should I mention the “type of certificate issued” for secondary school education meaning it is 10th standard and 11& 12 standard in India terms?
#7(Education) – Can there be few months gaps in between secondary school and university?
#7(Education) – Should I write the exact educational name or can I write the board’s name which actually conducted the examination? For eg: Board of Intermediate Education?
#7(Education) – My wife did not appear for her examination during her bachelor’s degree and hence her graduation was delayed by 2 years. What would be the number of years of education in her case? Would it be 16+2 or 16?
#8(Personal History) - My WP extension is under process now. What should be the “To” date for the most recent activity?
#8(Personal History) – if I am unemployed during a particular period, can I write “Not applicable” under the column “Name of the company, employer”?

IMM5406 – Additional Family Information for Spouse
Section A –What should be the marital status if my father in law since he is deceased now and what should I put as his present address?
General Question - Is there a way I can get some documentation that I have been paying tax to CRA till date?

IMM0008_Generic Application form

As you are in Implied status in Canada and still working, the 'To Date' will be the date when you're filling the form. Or else you may also write 'Present' there. In my case, I submitted the forms with the actual date when I was filling the form.

IMM0008_Schedule 8_Economic Classes

It is not necessary to have an exact match as such for the job title. Its ok as long as the job title fits with the one mentioned in WP and NOC classification. Do ensure that you have consistent titles mentioned in application as well as your employer reference letter.

Aren't there certificate names for 10th and 12th? If so, you can mention that. For example, AISSE and AISSCE or something like that for CBSE. Mention the actual terms as used by your board.

#7(Education) – Can there be few months gaps in between secondary school and university?

If there is a gap, I suggest that you mention it clearly. There may be natural gaps due to start times of University and also there may be breaks that students take before joining university. This is ok.

#7(Education) – Should I write the exact educational name or can I write the board's name which actually conducted the examination? For eg: Board of Intermediate Education?

Write the Institution name.

#7(Education) – My wife did not appear for her examination during her bachelor's degree and hence her graduation was delayed by 2 years. What would be the number of years of education in her case? Would it be 16+2 or 16?

I would guess 16 + 2, may be someone else can confirm.

#8(Personal History) - My WP extension is under process now. What should be the “To” date for the most recent activity?

As you are in Implied status in Canada and still working, the 'To Date' will be the date when you're filling the form. Or else you may also write 'Present' there. In my case, I submitted the forms with the actual date when I was filling the form.

#8(Personal History) – if I am unemployed during a particular period, can I write “Not applicable” under the column “Name of the company, employer”?

Yes.

IMM5406 – Additional Family Information for Spouse
Section A –What should be the marital status if my father in law since he is deceased now and what should I put as his present address?

Unsure...may be someone else can confirm.

General Question - Is there a way I can get some documentation that I have been paying tax to CRA till date?

You would have received your Notice of Assessment for every year you filed taxes, right? If you do not have this, you can request for copies from CRA. Might take a while.

Your wife education - only count years she was actively attending school.

Marital status of your father in-law - is "other" one of the options in the droplist? If so, select "other" and then write "deceased".

Well, then enter his marital status at the time he died. If he was still married, enter married. I think there is a question on the "background declaration" form that your wife will be able to check off that he is deceased and enter the date of death.

Thanks Senorita. If I write my father-in-laws marital status as married, should I mention my mother-in-laws current marital status as married or widowed?

Hmm... I just looked at the form, it seems there is no drop down list. So perhaps write "N/A - deceased" for your father-in-law and "widowed" for your mother-in-law.

Address for father-in-law = "N/A - deceased".

N/A = not applicable

Senorita, I the principal applicant don't have a date of birth certificate but have a letter from the municipal authorities which says that the DOB is not available in their records. Also, my wife does not have any certificate from the local municipal authorities but can submit her school certificates indicating the DOB. Should I write a covering letter for both of us explaining the situation or just write an explanation for my wife?
