Hello I am in great confusion please help

Date XYZ first became qualified to practice in this occupation
If the "primary occupation" is:
a qualified trade (four-digit code begins with 632, 633, 72, 73, 82, 92), this is the date they became qualified to practice on their own in Canada. (For example, when they moved from apprentice to being a licensed tradesperson.)
any other job, this is the date they first obtained the minimum education or training stated in the NOC description. (Note: if the NOC only states high school, this is the date they graduated.)

I am claiming points under NOC 4031 and it requires bachelors but I recently completed my bachelors. My 2 yrs bachelors and 2 yrs masters combinely gives me 4 yrs bachelors in my ECA. I started working when I completed 2 yrs bachelors only which ECA states as 2 yr diploma. So can I claim points for my work experience? Please help

Hello Staterun, I believe you can claim points for it. You should mention the date you received your first 2 years education (the one recognized as a diploma). I'd like to believe you got a certificate for that before starting work in march 2015 right?

Yes in my country it is termed as 2 yrs bachelors degree but in canada there us no concept of 2 yrs bachelors so my ECA showed my first credential as 2 yrs diploma after that I started working and also started 2 yrs masters as well.

Recently I got the ECA which mentioned my 2 yrs bachelors as a 2yr diploma and 2 yrs masters as 4 yrs bachelors in combination with 2 yrs bachelors.

That is what i am asking that according to ECA i have completed my 4 yrs bachelors in feb 2017. So will it be a problem if i claim? Or can I mention work start date or if I mention feb 2017 will it be a problem? Do these things matter or if I have correct work exp letter only that matters? Please reply guys

You have to ensure you mention correct dates because everything will be confirmed. If your ECA mentions your 2 years Diploma then you can mention that as the date you first got licensed to work.

If you were working while studying for your masters, does it mean your work experience was part time? If yes, that will reduce the length of time you'll claim for work experience depending on the hours you work weekly. You can check this out:

Yes you can use your 2 year diploma, you just may not score high enough. Although your final score is a combination of different things including work experience, ietls, education, age.... and so on.

Check out this link under 'education' for the categories and associated scores: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

Use the date when you completed your two year bachelors. I'm assuming this was before March 2015?? In your country, this is when you became qualified and hence you were offered the job for the position of a secondary school teacher.

" Date XYZ first became qualified to practice in this occupation " is generally for more strictly regulated occupations like a Lawyer or a Doctor where there is a regulatory body that ensures your qualification.
