I sympathize with your situation. Have you tried the US consulate in your country?

Getting fingerprints for FBI can be problematic if you live in some countries, where local law enforcement / police may not be familiar with these requests, or may not have the expertise to do it right.

In my own case, I live in Qatar where the US consulate does not do fingerprinting, and there are also no private fingerprinting services. I just got it done at Qatar CID (police), but I'm a bit concerned about the quality. Got two prints done, and I really hope the FBI doesn't reject them! The problem is the FBI can take 8-10 weeks, and when they're done, the results get sent by US Postal Service first class mail - which is very slow, can take 4-6 weeks to get to Qatar. So it could be 4 months before I even know if my fingerprints were acceptable to FBI :((

Yes, Qatar police did sign and stamp it. I don't know the answer to your second question - FBI police certificates can generally only be requested by you. I'm not sure how particular they are about sending results to a third party. Try calling their customer service number, and if you do, please post back what they tell you.

I will do that for sure , but i dont think there is a problem sending it to any address ?

please let me know where did they stamp exactly ? is it in the same box that says (signature of person who took the fingerprints) as this box is really small for a stamp ?

Yes they stamped on the signature box. As you pointed out, that box is small, so the stamp covers some of the area outside the box too.

1. Yes, the Indian consulate stamps one of your passport pages saying PCC issued
2. Should be a one-pager on the Indian consulate's letterhead
3. Not sure, that probably varies depending on which consulate/embassy you go to, but it should be a few days at most

Friends, Can you please provide your inputs for obtaining India PCC from USA.

- do we really need to give our original passports? If yes, will they return the passport at same time.
- how the India PCC looks like..will it be a letter or does any entry goes in our passport too ?
- how soon we can re-collect our passports- do we have to collect in person or will consulate mail them back?
Please let me know if you think anything else is required. Thanks!

Thanks alot "Prash42"...I am confused about the fees for PCC..As Per the consulate website, it says-
For Indian passport holders, a non refundable fee of $25 (twenty five) if passport issued by Consulate General of India,USA.
- otherwise if passport is obtained elsewhere, $45 (forty five)
.

However in the "Miscellaneous Services Form" , the fees mentioned is $20 or $40 :-\

Any thoughts?
