Hello all ... a very important question .. we now know that a decision has been made, medicals received and also a request for passport (which they have received). WE are still waiting for our letter with the decision - if t is indeed a positive decision ... my husband's medicals expire in a few weeks and we are concerned that if the letter arrives - he will need to pack up his life in a week or two to land (as you must land before medicals expire .. correct?). Anyway we can get an extension on landing date? Is it possible to redo medicals before they send the letter and request this? He doesn't know how he will pack up his life (and a thriving business) and move to Canada in merely a few weeks (especially his business which he is the owner operator of and it cannot continue without him). Please advise ... all the best. ps. because of cost involved he can't just fly to Canada to land and then return to Africa to "clean up" his business ...

All he has to do is land by the expiry date. There is nothing saying he can't return to his home country and finish up his business before moving permanently.

Are you aware the OP was over a year ago?

am in the same situation. The CHC refused to extend the Visa saying if i dont land by the given date i have to start the process afresh...so i have to Land in Canada get the certificate of Landing and apply for PR Card then i will be back within a week...it is very expensive knowing that will do the trip twice....but got no choice coz they gave me 1 Month to land and have got so much to attend to before relocating...They cannot extend the validity of yur Visa....

I'm sorry to ask this but I though that if you are asked to send the passport it is because the decition is positive any comments please?

Nope, some offices, i.e. New Delhi require the passport early in the process to do background checks.

Yeah I am from ND, they ask within a month of them receiving your file for your ppt. They make it clear in the PPR that this is no way a sign you have been approved. I assume other VO (not all) are like this.
