1. You did mention all your experience in your work history without holding something back.
2. You did mention different NOCs for different periods.
3. Your overall work experience as per your MyCIC profile added up to at least 2 years.

All of the above are correct?
Ah, I didn't mention different NOCs for different periods ...

Hi Asivad, the experience is continuous. My suspicion is that even NOC doesn't matter, I still have to list them in EE profile. I listed only 2147, not 2173. but I am not sure if that's the case.
I have worked in two different NOC myself and was told by a friend of my who got the PR that I should claim years of continuous experience in the NOC I listed in my application. I am not entirely sure this is 100% true but that is why I thought you got rejected for having less the the 2 yrs you claimed for your app NOC. I looked up the CEC requirements and I saw this under the "part time skilled work experience":

"You must show that you did the duties set out in the lead statement of the occupational description in the NOC, including all the essential duties and most of the main duties listed.

If you do not show that your experience meets the description in the NOC, we will not accept your application."

It may or may not be applicable to full time jobs...

Keep us posted on how your case goes, and good luck!!!!!

I think you need to clarify something. Did you simply not mention your work experience after your 2147 job ended? Did you leave out entirely from your work experience that you continued to work at the same company in a different capacity?

In other words, did you lead CIC to believe that your 17 months at that company was all the experience you had, because your offer letter was for a different job than your current one?

What did you say you had been doing since July 2014?

Can you tell us how you presented your work history in Canada to CIC?

That understanding is incorrect. Experience gained under multiple NOCs, continuous or not, can be claimed.

I believe the OP made a mistake somehow while representing their work experience to CIC. If they figure out where exactly they made that mistake, they can send in a CSE clarifying exactly that and I believe their application can be reopened without further ado.

I guess my question now is can I create a new EE profile and list all details with clearly stated employer reference letter and start the process over again? I think it would be faster than appealing.

Of course you can do that.

I would also recommend that you send in a CSE simultaneously. If they open your old application because of the CSE, you can withdraw the new application. Else the new application continues on its way.

All the best!

I listed NOC 2147 only, because that's my offer says. I didn't include 2173 since I don't have a offer stating that, even though in the program I switched to that position... I guess that's the reason

Hi Asivad,

There is a confusion related to my NOC Code. I am working in Canada since June,2014. But while applying for Work Permit (Company Specific) the Lawyer proposed for NOC 2171 i.e. NOC A Category, although the Roles and Responsibilities mentioned in my offer letter aligned with NOC 2283 i.e. NOC B Category.

Now while Renewing the same Work Permit in April, 2015 the Lawyer propose the change it to NOC 2283 and he mentioned in his letter that it is more aligned to my duties.

Here comes the problem -

1) I got ITA under FSW category. While filling the Work Experience Form after ITA, should I mention the Total Canadian Experience under NOC 2283 (I have Reference Letter and Job Offer Letter to support my Roles & Responsibilities during this period to support this) ?

2) I have my previous Foreign Experience (Outside Canada) in NOC 2283 (I have Reference Letter to support my Roles & Responsibilities during this period to support this) since 2010.

So, how much Total Experinece should I fill in the form?

Thanks in advance.. Your expert advise is really appreciated..

Absolutely. Go with what your work reference letter states. I don't imagine your work permit NOC would affect your NOC declared in EE. Different time periods and different purposes.

2) I have my previous Foreign Experience (Outside Canada) in NOC 2283 (I have Reference Letter to support my Roles & Responsibilities during this period to support this) since 2010.

Your total experience (as far as EE is concerned) is all the years of experience that you have except for any work experience gained while studying full-time in Canada. It can be across multiple NOCs, across multiple geographies and discontinuous.

Thanks in advance.. Your expert advise is really appreciated..

I am wondering if I start a new application, will this rejected one affect on the decision of the new one?

Not at all. But you will be asked for this reference number so they can check for differences between the 2 applications. In your defense, add an LOE (while submitting the new application post ITA) that highlights what exactly you have changed from the last time.

I don't think it will go that far. You have a good case for getting your application reopened using the CSE. Hope you've done it already.

What dobes is asking (I think) is did you provide a letter from your employer to say you were working for the period after August 2014? You seem to indicate that you don't in your initial post (by "offer" I presume you mean employer's letter). If you only have employers' letters covering a period of 17 months then of course you can't claim points for two years, nothing to do with the NOCCs
