Hello everyone, this is my situation:

I'm a 3D artist and designer specialized in the creation of fashion content.

I have several years of experience, more than a decade; however, I was able to open my own, independent business only 1 year ago.

I'm completely self-employed and my business is doing good and has been growing steadily.

In the first year I earned more than 60k, but only one third was from the first 6 months of activity (business is growing, so is income).

While I'm in EU, my business customers are mostly located in North America and I mostly broker through a larger business which is located in New York.

My English is good and I've got my back covered as far as money is concerned.
I don't have any degree or anything of the kind though.

I'd like to immigrate to Canada (Nova Scotia) as self-employed person and then apply for a permanent visa later on.
I'd like to come and open my own business in Canada.

I was suggested I should apply for a temporary work permit at the airport and I'm wondering:
how many chances do I have to get it?
Could this really work?

Thanks a lot and take care!

Your chances of getting a work permit as "self employed" are somewhere near nil, actually nil if you try applying on entry to Canada. You wouldn't qualify as self employed as an Immigrant either, as you don't meet the definition :

Relevant experience in respect of

a self-employed person, means a minimum of two years of experience, during the period beginning five years before the date of application for a permanent resident visa and ending on the day a decision is made on the application. The experience must consist of:
in respect of cultural activities,
two one-year periods of experience in self-employment in cultural activities, or
two one-year periods of experience in participation at a world class level in cultural activities, or
a combination of a one-year period of experience described in (A), above, and a one-year period of experience described in (B), above,

Here is the information on self employed for Nova Scotia http://novascotiaimmigration.ca/immigrants/working-here/starting-a-business/am-i-ready

thanks for the reply.

well, my experience in the field started in the 2002 and I have a lot of credential (mainly from my customer and other professionist in the field).

I was able to create a business one years ago, since before that date, in my country, this type of works was not recognized.

Anyway another simple question : what are my chance if my business have two or more years of activities ?
Meeting that requirement I can be elegible ?

Thanks again for the time.
