Guys,

I need your valuable inputs for my situation. I am currently working in the US on a H1B which is expiring on August 28th, 2020. My company is not planning to re-new it due to Covid-19 business losses. My last working day for my company will be July 10th, 2020. I have my CoPR approved before March 18th, 2020 and it is valid till July 10th, 2020.

I am planning to travel to Toronto this Saturday 6/27/2020.

Do you think it is a good idea to travel now given my situation? Should i ask for an extension?

Please advise guys. You inputs are highly valuable.

Are you planning on remaining in Canada once you come here this Saturday? Or is your intention to return to the U.S.?

If you have been trying to find another job you should try to stretch out the last day at work a little bit so that wherever you are they can do a transfer. It's muddy in today's environment of whether/when you are able to come back though, especially given your situation
Yup. I plan to return to the USA and search for a job. If I don't find one here then I plan to move to Canada permanently.

I am planning to return to the USA

That's not going to work. Once you enter Canada, you are required to remain here for 14 days and quarantine yourself.

I will paid and be in the company till September 30th,2020. But, because they are not renewing my visa my last day is July 10th. So, while coming back into the USA, I will still be my company employee.

I asked below question on a different string and am posting it here for more confirmation:

I am wondering if the 14-day quarantine can be avoided by leaving Canada directly after landing.

Please check this: https://orders-in-council.canada.ca/attachment.php?attach=39166&lang=en

It clearly says Exemption - Leaving Canada, by which you can end your 14-day quarantine early. Extremely practice could be same day after entry, as long as you followed all required precautions, to my personal understanding.

So why are you not landing on 10th permanently?
If you land this week then what is your plan after 10th?
My take: As you have enough days to land, you should be planning based on what you would be doing after 10th.

Yes. It's spelled out in IRCC emails that you receive immigrants landing MUST finish quarantine

I suggest you call the office you are intending to land
Alright. I will choose 14-day Quarantine at an Airport Hotel in Toronto. I have a relative who lives in Mississauga and i will provide his address for the mailing of the PR card. I will return to the US 14 days later as my US H1B visa is valid till August 28th, 2020.

Guys, I landed yesterday (27th June) and i am back home in the USA today. No issues.

Thanks for your help guys.
