I'm permanent resident in Canada and I'm plan to apply visitor visa to my parents but my Indian passport is going to expire in 3months. Does that matter when my mom applies visitor visa or super visa in Canadian embassy in India.

Should i first renew my passport before applying visitor visa to my parents? Or I can apply visitor visa as soon as i submit application for passport renewal or should i apply visitor visa right away?

thanks in advance.

As the host, what's more important is your immigration status in Canada ie your PR card.

You can apply for your mom's visitor visa anytime during the validity of your passport

Do does that mean, i can apply visitor visa for my parents even though my passport is valid only for 3months. Will my parents get multiple entry visa for long duration? That does have any dependency to my passport validity?

Hi,

Your PR status is more important (as the Host).... as your parents are applying for TRVs (and not you), their passports must be valid when applying. In any case, your current passport is valid for another 3 months by which time a decision will be made on your parents' TRV applications.

The visa officer assessing their applications will decide whether to grant Single/Multiple Entry Visas and the length of the visas. None of us can tell whether or not they will be issued MEVs of long duration

Cheers :)
