hi tigerlilly! so more or less we'll have the same expenses kase we're also 4 in the family. my kids are 6 & 8 yo next year. sana makahanap din kami ng apartment near the school cause i bet it would be really difficult for the kids to travel goin' school during winter.gusto ko rin sa catholic school sila makapasok. lahat ba ng schools merong french immersion? advantage kase if bilingual or multilingual mga bata. are your kids in a before/after school day care? plan namin ipasok mga bata sa before/after school care so i can work full time. i read in the forums that most of the jobs are not advertised but thru referral instead. just in case you know a company looking for a bookkeeper/acctg technician, refer mo ko ha, hehehe. dito sa 'tin, me & my husband are both accountants by profession. but since phil CPAs are not recognized in canada, then i'm sure i'll be lucky enough to get an acctg technician position. i don't mind though, our goal is really for the future of our kids. mag-aral na lng ulit kami ng husband ko once we have the means.

i'll take note of ur advise re swimming lessons... hope to see you in sk! ;)

@ jandox, thank you nga pala and congrats. i read on the other thread, DM kn pala! congratssssssss.....
Hello po.. just read now na CPA po kau sa pinas.Tita ko po ang President ng mga Filipino CPA's d2 sa Canada. If you want po i can talk to her about you being a CPA sa Pinas and how will you be able to practice d2. Kc po ang alam ko nagpapractice po sya as CPA d2...though not very sure. Nasa Ajax Ontario po sya naka base. Accounting Graduate din po ako and currently taking online accounting cert kc d pa po me allowed to go into an educational institution under TRV.

hi mylady833! that's good to hear.magpa assess ako sa CGA Sask pag medyo established na kami. i prefer becoming a CGA cause i'm not into external auditing dito sa phils, general accounting forte ko while my husband naman has CPA/CIA designation. and will work towards achieving the CMA designation hopefully in the future. believe i'm not yet qualified becoming a finance manager in canada due to business law and tax. ok na sakin acctg technician, at least the position won't entail greater responsibility. i'm looking forward to meet you in sk! sana meron gatherings mga pinoy sa saskatoon and those near the place.

Ellian,no hun....I'm a stay at home mom, kaya hatid sundo ko na lang mga kids ko and they don't have to go to the before/after school program.Yes,me french immersion class ang son ko,they called it intensive French...kasi most of their subjects/classes were taught in french...which started when they turned grade 6...it lasted for almost a year,if i'm not mistaken mga 8 months. Now in grade 7,they only have French class 2x a week. My son is also in band and volleyball team.
Very fast paced ang studies nila dito...minsan yung buns ko is ako na nawoworry sa bilis ng pag-aaral nila....my grade 1 daughter is only turning 6 this December....and they have been reading 2 weeks after the start of the school year. She's been keeping up great with all her older classmates which I am proud of pero syempre, naawa ka rin kasi she has less time to be a kid.
You'll do awesome here Ellian, don't worry...kahit this lang muna ang first few months....ang kabutihan ng living in Canada is as long as masipag kang magtrabaho, kakaganda ang buhay mo,ninyo ng family mo. Di katulad sa atin, kayoed kalabaw ka man, walang asenso hehehehe.
Kwento ko sa inyo yung nakilala ko dito, family of 4 din sila....almost 2 teenagers na kids nila....yung piny is a businesswoman sa atin....she owned 2 pharmacies with almost 10 employees daw,me cook at maid siya sa atin.....they sold everything sa pinas and migrated here sa SK (I met the pinay sa Estevan,SK....malapit na sa US border...tumira din kasi kami doon)...Sabi niya sa pinas donya siya, dito sa Canada tagahiwa ng deli meats sa isang grocery....pero sabi niya its ok naman as weeks went by....they were able to furnish their apartment with the newest appliances ;D ;D. Got a new van for the family and me ipon pa sila sa bangko! :D :D :D. Sabi niya tiis lang talaga kasi it's all for their future...which she can see is far better than what they'll have if they stayed sa Pinas.

hi tigerlilly!

thanks sa inputs mo..., nakaka inspire and nakaka excite at the same time kahit mag tiis-tiis sa simula :) your statement is so true, kahit anong kayod dito parang ganun pa rin. tapos pag di kilala kung san nag graduate anak mo, wala masyadong chance sa trabaho. kung exceptionally good talaga ang applicant kahit anong school ok lng. at least pag sa canada nag aral mga bata, may edge over others, moreso if they have a degree. ano name ng school ng mga kids mo para google ko naman, hehehe. thanks ulit ha, i'm sure we'll come accross pag dating ng sk.
