to those who are already in sask, appreciate if you could give us an idea of the average monthly expenditure for a family of 4. like how much will be spent for food, utilities (internet, phone, electricity), car insurance, gasoline, flat/apartment rental. thanks...
ellian25 said:hi tigerlily and mylady833! any school that you can recommend for my kids. my kids are 6 & 8 yo next year, hopefully sa sk na sila mag school next yr. i checked the schools and there are a lot. i prefer separate school. any catholic school w/ good discipline that you know? any info that you can share will be highly appreciated. thanks!
thanks rubyalabar! car payment? is this for the amortization? ang mahal ng car insurance, $212 monthly! so i really need to get a part time job para di naman kami hand-to-mouth. i think $16 per hr lang ang offer sa husband ko, for a start mabubuhay naman siguro kami jan. health benefits can be availed after 3 months, right? did you get a temporary insurance before you left for canada or jan kn kumuha? how about the child tax benefit? is this given monthly? pasensya na, dami ko tanong. but i really appreciate your inputs. thanks so much.rubyalabar said:There's 3 of us in the family...

Hello mylady833! Welcome to the thread... I hope dumami pa tayo dito and let's keep the thread alive!mylady833 said:Hello fellow Saskatonians! I am new here in Saskatoon but i really enjoyed staying here. Ive gone all over the city last summer para daw maikot ko naman Saskatoon. SINP d2 is mabilis kc kulang papulasyon. Low cost of living din but to those na sanay sa city you might find it medyo slow or boring. All in all maganda d2..mababait mga tao..kaliwa't kanan may makikita kang Pinoy.. Gudluck sa mga papunta d2 and hope ma meet ko mga nand2 na. ;D

Go Saskatchewan! God bless! I love this thread...
See you soon...
OO tama si Rubyalabar....ang schools ng mga bata is depende sa area nyo....minsan malayo (which they may need to ride the school bus to school) or malapit lang like my kids...2 mins walk lang nasa school na silarubyalabar said:Where your kids will attend school will depend on where you live, kung anong school nakakasakop sa lugar mo...so if may suggest si tigerlily or anyone from saskatoon na magandang school then i guess
It will be best to find a house/apt near that school.
Good luck!
There is always a rainbow after the rain. Maple Leaf received! Thank you Lord!ellian25 said:hi tigerlilly! so more or less we'll have the same expenses kase we're also 4 in the family. my kids are 6 & 8 yo next year. sana makahanap din kami ng apartment near the school cause i bet it would be really difficult for the kids to travel goin' school during winter.gusto ko rin sa catholic school sila makapasok. lahat ba ng schools merong french immersion? advantage kase if bilingual or multilingual mga bata. are your kids in a before/after school day care? plan namin ipasok mga bata sa before/after school care so i can work full time. i read in the forums that most of the jobs are not advertised but thru referral instead. just in case you know a company looking for a bookkeeper/acctg technician, refer mo ko ha, hehehe. dito sa 'tin, me & my husband are both accountants by profession. but since phil CPAs are not recognized in canada, then i'm sure i'll be lucky enough to get an acctg technician position. i don't mind though, our goal is really for the future of our kids. mag-aral na lng ulit kami ng husband ko once we have the means.
i'll take note of ur advise re swimming lessons... hope to see you in sk!
@ jandox, thank you nga pala and congrats. i read on the other thread, DM kn pala! congratssssssss.....
