Hi narsse,

I hope this post grows, as it will help us to track each other's application.

I applied through MPNP January 2013 (online application)- got nominated July 2013 and I just submitted my application last month, September 2013 (please see timeline on the left - profile).

I am also waiting for the AOR, which of course will be later than yours. According to the threads that I have been reading, people have been receiving their AORs 2-3 months after (PNP nominees) submission.

Good luck to all of us! :D

Thank you tabs179.. At last someone replied! We're on the same boat, waiting starts here.. Guess we have to armour ourselves with more patience! I just can't wait to start a family with my husband. I feel like this waiting has taken its toll on us, the distance and time difference has been more than a year of sacrifice.. Thanks to skype, Ym, fb & viber, my bestfriends for the past 15 months..:)

Happy waiting to us!
Goodluck..:)

Oh, yes I do hope it grows, so that we can be more patient about it. Reading threads of other applicant's struggles just keep me going.

I applied to MPNP three times. First two attempts (2010 and 2012) was because I was so persistent in applying via Family Stream and they keep on dis agreeing to my work experience (they only count from the past 5 years) and I had an advise from an Immigration Adviser to try General Stream instead (which counts from the past 10 years). I worked part time and Family Stream keep on not accepting it to even an equivalent to 2 years.

I applied again in January 2013 and I was really losing my interest by May/ June and was thinking of trying Australia and suddenly I got an email in July 2013 from my uncle stating that my LOA has arrived. (I didn't even paid any attention to my uncle's emails much, and didn't realize that him being interviewed means a good sign LoL).

Let's try to get this post going by putting up posts as much as we to attract more people in our situation.

In the meantime... just a little bit more patience eh? Keep on going with our lives until we get some more good news.

Hi everyone,

Please help me enlighten with my problem..

I'm about to submit my application for provincial nominee to CIO, Nova Scotia and there is a processing fee receipt/form i need to submit with my application..I believe the processing fee is $550. Now, I want to pay online because the bank said that they are not generating a bank draft if their client has no dollar account (even if you have a savings account with them).

This is my question.. Do you think it is ok if I will use my sister's credit card in paying my processing fee? Because I am confused if the credit card that i will use should be under my name or is it okay if i will borrow my sister's credit card. My sister is willing to pay my application online and will just email to me the receipt to compile along with my application. I am here in the philippines and my sister is in canada.

Please reply guys.. It will really be appreciated.. Thank you so much.

Hi istel0887,

I also paid online (recently submitted my application to CIC NS, just last week) through my bank account in UK (I am in currently ni PH). In my own research, you are allowed to pay your visa fees from another account holder as long as the amount of CAD$550 is taken in full from just one credit card.

See METHOD OF PAYMENT OPTIONS: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5620E.pdf

And there is an option to fill in the name of payer.

Mind you, that form is not for online payment. but the rules would be quite similar to online payment, as long as your sister is the one who will fill in the forms for you online. Double check that all details are correct before paying online. She can send you the pdf file (receipt) via email. And you can include print out of the receipt in your application.

I hope that's helpful.

----------

By the way, I also responded to a similar thread of yours in another post. We are glad to see more people joining our thread, which narss kindly started. ;D

Hello istel0887..

I actually don't have any idea about online payment, my husband paid our application using bankdraft.. So I searched online and I came across this Instruction Guide sa CIC website, but sad to say I can't post the link. I don't know why, maybe because I'm a newbie here..:(

The Instruction guide includes the steps in paying the fees, and some informations about online payment..

So, while we are waiting patiently for the successful result of our next application. What have we all doing for our preparation for Canada, during our free time?

As for me:

(1) read forum threads (here) with the hope to learn something new about applications and living in Canada
(2) work on the pre-arrival workbook provided by Manitoba
(3) checking job listing - I opted to check lower level jobs first, see how much in demand they are, and if I am even qualified. One has to gain work experience first in a new country, and it's more realistic to expect to be hired from the bottom pile of jobs. ???
(4) checking accommodation listings - to have an idea how budget my living expense, know the rules and requirements. I do not plan to stay with my uncle forever LoL
(5) reading about Canada - news, government websites etc. - it's good to be well informed about the country itself
(6) and last but not the list, the most important thing - knitting scarves, hats, sweaters/ vest tops in preparation for winter LoL (better than twiddling my thumbs... :p)

I do have a job though, so I am not completely obsessed and over-excited (YET)

Please share how you are currently preparing for your move.

Hi narsse,

may i just ask if your husband is already in canada? because im here in the philippines and ask the bank if they can make me a bank draft in canadian dollar..they said that if i dont have a dollar account they can't make me a bank draft.. only they can make me is manager's check which is in peso..but as i have read the instructions it should be in canadian funds..

thank you so much.

Hi physio,

The bank told me they can make me a manager's check..but i dont think if it will be accepted with my application because it is peso. :( My other option is for my sister which is in canada to pay for my fees online using her credit card there so i will have no problem in the currency of my payment because it is already in canadian dollar..

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks a lot.

Hi istel0887

Sorry took me so long to respond to this, I just couldn't find the thread

I honestly haven't heard of credit cards (i,e. Visa or Mastercard) that couldn't be used abroad or other currencies. They will just charge you at the exchange rate they have for the day, so it might be more expensive. I am not also sure if they have exchange rate charges, too.

As long as the establishments has the logo and says they do accept them, it should be fine.

If you really want to know, try using your card. As long as you have CAD$550 or more in your limit, I don't see any reason why it would be rejected. When I paid, I used a debit card (UK bank) not even a credit card (but it's a Visa) and I was not charged for exchange rate services. That might depend on the bank you use, I guess. And I think credit cards are much more flexible than debit cards.

Worse case scenario, if it got rejected, you have to ask your sister to pay on your behalf, which you planned in the first place.

Have you already paid?
