Greetings,

According to the tracker, Physical presence in progess since January 25, 2024, and all other tasks have been finished.

Recently, I received my GCMS note indicating that all procedures were finalized on January 25, 2024 (Physical Presence verified: Yes - No Concern). Additionally, it confirms that Citizenship has been Granted. Next Processing Stage: File to Ceremony Ready.

I am uncertain whether the officer inadvertently failed to update the system correctly, resulting in a lack of progress in my application.

What steps should I take at this point? Your guidance would be appreciated.

Call IRCC and verify the latest status. Sometimes tracker goes out of the sync.

Thank you for getting back to me. I called yesterday, and the agent informed me that my Physical Presence verification is still in progress. They assured me that I will receive an email once there is an update. So yea :/

Agents are completely useless as they work like a call centre and have 0 influence on the application.Try submitting a webform or contacting your local MP with the same info in Gcms notes

Try calling IRCC after a gap of 3-4 days. Some good agent will provide proper update. Max are lazy and just give vague answers.

I had a conversation with an agent over the phone now. She explained that the officer confirmed my physical presence without any concerns. However, another department needs to verify this before the file can proceed to the ceremony stage. They mentioned it might take up to 15 months for this process, leaving me speechless before I hung up the phone.

How many days of physical presence you applied with for citizenship.

I applied on 1096 day but the application was filled on 1095 day.

If you apply without buffer it goes for additional review as a 2 day deficiency can make you ineligible for citizenship. What you seeing is normal in such cases.

I have a hilarious story to share. After discussing the matter with the first agent, I called again, only to be informed by the second agent that the GCMS note had been corrected, labeling it as an error. However, I was advised to wait as my physical presence was still pending, and 14 months is the process time. Not taking this news well, I called once more. The third agent picked up but complained about her slow system, promising a callback after verifying my number. Disappointingly, no callback came. Undeterred, I made a fourth call, which seemed to irk the agent. Despite my attempts to explain, she tersely confirmed that my application was still in process and stated that by calling us 4th time, we wouldn't say what I wanted to hear. :/ and there is no error made on my GCMS note :/

This is quite an unkind comment. It would be strange to think an IRCC agent would have influence on an application in conjunction with a processing officer. I think a more reasonable assumption would be to view an agent as a conduit--used for questions on process, the state of an application if tracker isn't being used, and an escalation point if an email hasn't been received for a test/ceremony. I see 'contact your MP' used frequently on here, but I think their influence is overvalued in the grand scheme of things.

I agree with your points. As an applicant, the application process costs both money and time. So, it's reasonable to expect transparency about what's happening with our applications. Instead of receiving generic responses, we should get specific information tailored to our situation. In today's advanced society, where we can track things like food deliveries in real-time, it's frustrating to not have similar visibility into our applications. We shouldn't have to inquire about our applications unless there's an issue, as relevant updates should be automatically shared with us. It's ironic how IRCC expects us to apply and then wait for up to 14 months without much communication, only to require prompt responses when they need information from us. Reflecting on what I've written, it seems filled with negativity, which is disheartening. But I wonder, is it a lack of something?
