Copies of T4 and Tax NOA are the best proofs.

Also random photocopies of paystubs - the sheer amount of photocopies can be crazy. I would photocopy 1 stub for every 6 months and obviously if you are in the same job it will increase.

Good luck

But, CIC wants to confirm the work history, not the taxes.
Is it okay to send a Work Certificate that states "so-and-so has been a full time employee since so-and-so?"

Or are T4 slips better? Or copies of all paystubs? Or all 3?

What happens for Self-employed people like professionals, consultants, real estate investor etc.. who does not own a business in that case ? They only way they can proof work and income by providing NOA and CIC agent also suggest the same..

I am Self employed ..Independent IT Consultant...We have company to company agreement. In this case

We do receive Pay slips ....( Company I am contracting with pays to My company )

We file T2 Corporation Income tax returns

Contract agreements .....with From and To dates ...

Apart from this we can get a letter from the Client we providing our services.

In my case I am a small self property developer. I buy investment property under my personal name and work with architects, city on planning approvals etc. So I can provide CIC NOA, T-776 for Capital Gain Income on sales, city documents as proof of work activity etc. Under Work/Education, I can put "Real Estate Developer" and under Employer name: Self and attach a letter with work details.. I guess this should be OK with CIC. All we have to proof that we work somewhere. someway and file income taxes..

100% Agree

I just called CIC call center and they told me there is no specific document that we require for work records, anything that shows you have worked during the time you mentioned would be fine and if you have been unemployed for a while you need to mention that as well with dates. although he also said we do not have that much info on these kind of details as a call center and what ever the website has is the best reference!
Any way I think TAX records would be the best proof.

You may write under "Work" - Marketing Management and under "Employer" - Indoor Playground at.... You can attache property title or business license if you have one and NoA. You may also enclose a letter on " 6.F: Work History for last years" write down you work activities that you perform day to day in your Playground..

Do you guys need to provide the employment/income info to prove presence with the initial application or do you wait until the interview when the officer ask for them?
