Hi..My application in NOC 3131 has reached CIO by 7th nov. The cap was 440 and today its 476. I dont know whether I fall in the cap. Do they encash the fee during their first review for completeness of application? If cap reaches before encashment of my fee, does it mean my application do not fall in the cap?

Not necessarily,,,
application counted in cap after its primary completeness evaluation only... & no encashment done at the time of counting the application in cap... thats the later process...

**Once the cap has been reached, we can only accept applications for this occupation from people with an existing offer of arranged employment.

Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, the CIO cannot review each application for completeness on the same day it arrives at the office. The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week, but these figures are meant as a guide only. There is no guarantee that an application sent in now will fall within the cap by the time it reaches the CIO. We are looking into ways to minimize the effect of this on website updates.

dear nikhil_miral,
the following is by our friend RKC:

Caps/ CIO operations
CIC:
• MI2 introduced caps. MI1 had no caps, but the number of applications exceeded our expectations.
• MI2 has a 20,000 cap; 1,000 cap per NOC. Caps will be reset on July 1, 2011.
• Managing caps is difficult. A file created is counted in the caps at the time of creation. Sometime a spot may become available later on.

(Taken from minutes of CICIP meeting on June 3 2011.)

When do you think a file will be created for your application ? Of course after they have with them the money you are paying for processing fee. They will not process you / put you on their system / count you in the cap before you pay them. And why should they?

your comment on that pls...
