PGWP + OWP(Extension)+ Child(SP)

Hello All,

I seek advice from experts in this forum.

I'm about to complete my studies in May 2023 and currently working on the Teer 2(NOC B) job. After my studies, I'm entitled to 3 years of PGWP. My spouse got her OWP recently after 18 months of waiting. However, our child's visitor visa was rejected. My current SP expires in Aug 2023, and my spouse plans to fly to Canada after I obtain my transcript and completion letter, which would be in early July 2023.

I rang up IRCC today to check on how I can work on getting my PGWP, Spouse's OWP(Extension), and child's Study Permit done. My initial plan is to proceed flag polling with my spouse and get our child study permit done over the border. My spouse has no intention of being separated from our child and wants to return after the polling process. Then apply for TRV outside of Canada since my spouse would have to return to accompany our child into Canada.

The officer mentioned that the OWP could be done online, and my spouse must come to Canada before it expires. My spouse's status would be known as "maintained,". My spouse can leave and later apply for TRV outside of Canada. As for our child, we can apply for the SP, but as an outland applicant as the child is not in Canada. We would have to raise a web form of processing center change since my spouse would be leaving right after the polling.

My question here:

1. Do I need to run the documentation process like the previous SP+OWP again?
2. Do I need to show POF for the OWP extension and the child's SP, or is my pay stub sufficient?
3. How long would be the waiting time for OWP extension and SP?

Please suggest any other option I could look into that would make my life easier.

Thanks in advance.

Why not flagpole yourself and apply online for OWP and study permit for your child or else try to apply for study permit now for your child? I am sure you would prefer avoiding rh expense of a short trip to Canada. Not sure if you can get the study permit at the border without your child present. Would also verify with your local border whether they will be doing flagpoling and when although tough to say about what the policies will be during the summer. Some limit to a few times a week and a certain number of applications that day. Most are weekdays. Granting permits is not the priority of land borders and during busy times the border may not allow any flagpoling. Summer is the busiest travel season so important to check if the border is processing flagpoling requests and if when.

My permit SP ends in August, and if I wish to lodge an application for my child now, I believe that it might not get processed within such a short time period. Based on the conversation with the IRCC office, I was been advised that a parent can obtain the permit for their child without them physically present. ( I will have to call IRCC again to clarify this again on this) On the flagpole part, I will have to check with my colleagues who did the same process. We are focusing on reducing the cost of this process, but we have no idea how to do this. I have not seen my family for 18 months now, and if my spouse's TRV expires by August, then the waiting process starts again for another year or so, which I don't wish to go through. Sometimes I do think that migration is not suitable for those married couples if one of them is planning to travel alone. Looking at my situation, I rest the case that either migrated as a single person or as a family(if married), Long-distance relationship is agonizing.
