PGWP or close permit with LMIA

Hello,

I am currently a student and will apply for a PGWP (should be for 3 years of permit, given my studies are 3 years). However, the employer can also do a LMIA and I don't know what to do.

First, will my spouse get an extension of his open work permit in both situations ? (in that case, my understanding is that he will not have to wait for the 3 pay slips if I have a work permit with LMIA, as he will just need to prove my job is NOC category A)

Second, how long will be the work permit with LMIA long for ? It looks like it can be 4 years but also if the length of work is written as permanent/indeterminate then they give you only 2 years.

The main reason I hesitate is that if I get a work permit with LMIA for 4 years (instead of 3 for PGWP) I would rather do this one, especially as I don't intend to change employer AND it will give me a lot of points in EE, which I will not have with PGWP.

Any recommendations ? How to know the duration of the work permit I would be given? I guess it will be according to what is written on LMIA?
I want to make sure that either way my spouse is still eligible to open work permit.

Do you actually have an employer already going through the LMIA process to hire you?

I have an employer and it is their normal procedure to do LMIA usually.
They will apply for LMIA if I decide to go that route (and they usually get it fast)
