Not any Action required. But I did received two separate emails from IRCC. First one includes a PDF letter and it says in it “ we are extending your work period on existing works permit for additional 18 months” which is very confusing for me. Is that mean my current work permit has been extended? Or they are sending a new one? I have no Idea personally. And in the same letter it says we will send a new work permit in mail in most cases. I don’t know what does mean by most cases. Did you got letter saying same things? I got second emails that says I am eligible to work till May 2023 while waiting for my new work permit. Can you share what did they said in emails that you got?

Yes I did get the same emails. I think you are ok to wait until you see it. I also got an email saying ACTION REQUIRED but I didn’t do anything because all my details are correct. I’m really not sure what action is required from my side. I’m worried now

The email which we got is valid only until May2023. As far as I know, it’s the email only that’s going to be valid until may 2023 (that’s for the people who’s work permit is expired already and they can meanwhile show it to their employers) and we will get a hard copy with additional 18months validity, I’m not sure until when but I think it should be definitely after May, 2023.

So The pdf you got did it says “we will extend the work period on your existing work permit for additional 18 months”. This line is so confusing for me. They should say we will send you a new work permit instead of saying we are extending the existing one. You should be fine with Action required mail, usually IRCC sends that email when we have any new update in our GC key, you should login to your GC key just to make sure you don’t miss any update. I think IRCC will link this work permit to our GC key automatically, that’s just my personal belief.

Yes you are right it confuses anybody and I got confused too but they mentioned ADDITIONAL 18months so it should be definitely more than May,2023 otherwise it’s pointless to extend in my view.
Hopefully there isn’t any action because all the info is up to date and the pdf also has my current address so I think it should be ok but I’m so worried. Let’s wait and watch.

one more question, did you also apply for PR yet?? If yes, at what stage you are ?

Yes I will keep you updated. Yes I have applied PR through Online PNP program in April 2022. They asked for biometrics in August and I gave those in September.I didn’t her anything from them after that.

Me too!!
July- got approved for PNP
Sep- Medicals passed

After that no updates!!!

Did you submitted upfront medical? Did they sent you any Email to link your application to GC key? I only got biometrics request and But not any email to link my application to GC key. In my online portal it just shows application, date and submitted nothing else. How did you got to know medical has been updated?

Yes I did upfront Medicals!!
Oh really!!! Im unsure about the linking because I applied online and passed the Medicals on sep 13th.
And I also got to know from other chats that after the medicals passed the application no. changes from CAN…. to E…. For me it did change. So after that no updates

I applied on my own so it shows on application status where you also have the application no. Don’t you have the access to online portal ??

Yes I have access to the portal let me send you the picture. But somehow my consultant has his own representative portal and I have my own. But in my own portal it doesn’t shows anything regarding progress of my application.

Oh really!! That’s strange!!
I’m not sure how it works if you hire a representative as I never had any. May be you will have limited access ??? But I think it shouldn’t be as you are the applicant. As per my understanding, your representative will inform if you have any changes on your application since they keep an eye on everyday basis ??? As you paid them.

Yes I am having hard time to send a picture so anyways I think you are right my consultant probably have the full access I am going to ask him now. The application number that I have is starts with the E.
