PGWP expiring, CEC closed - options to stay & work?

Hi all, me and my husband are in the similar situation of this thread and really some helps. Thanks in advance for any advice from you all.

My husband is on PGWP and I'm on SOWP. Our work permit will expire in Feb 2024. In Feb 2024 we're gonna have 496 CRS score but we don't really have much hope with the draws right now.
We're from Vietnam (I don't think Vietnam is qualified for IEC); both 28 years old. He works in TEER 1. I've been working in TEER 2 for more than one year under SOWP.

Could you please advise us if there's any chance we can extend our work permits in the case we couldn't get an ITA before our WP expires? Thank you very much for any help!

No way to extend work permits unless your employers are willing to go through the LMIA process and prove that they cannot hire any Canadian, PR or person with valid work authorization. Then you apply for a closed work permit. Look at PNP programs too.

Correct, you do not qualify for IECs.

If you don't get ITA before your WPs expire, then your husband's employer would need to secure an approved LMIA so that your husband can switch to a closed work permit and you can extend your SOWP.

Make sure you have maxed out your language test scores so that you are scoring as much as possible in this category.

Worst case scenario would be changing your status to visitor so that you can remain in Canada however you would need to stop working. Alternatively, you can return to your home country and wait for ITA and PR application processing from there.

What are your NOCs? Did you both work for over a year? In your NOC? Have you looked whether you qualify for any of the province specific programs? Did your husband study for a year or or for longer?
