Hi All, I have a question regarding PGP.
Me and My wife both are planning to invite our parents. i came here in 2016 November on work permit and my wife came as dependent with me and in 2018 we got PR and my wife got Job as well in 2018 (so she meets the financial requirements.).
we both independently meet the financial requirements, so we are planning to fill two different application without co signers.
i am not very clear about the answer to below question, could you guys please correct me if i am answering wrong here.

  • the number of people in your immediate family (you, your spouse or partner and dependent children) - 2 [me + my wife]
  • the total number of people you already sponsored and are still financially responsible for - 0
  • the total number of people you want to sponsor, including their dependants (spouse or partner, and children) - 2
That's correct if you are not planning to co-sign for each other.

But still we can change with reasons
Yes. you can update/correct your income tax return. Sometimes, this will trigger an audit for all your income of previous years.
And the updated NOA may not be available on time for you to submit for the application (in case you got picked in the lottery).
Be prepared to pay up your tax and possible penality.

He can certainly sponsor his parents as well either this year or next year. Their combined income needs to be enough to cover everyone - meaning the two of them and any children + her parents and brother + his parents and any dependents. So they need enough LICO for at least 8 people (maybe more) based on the info in your post.
Hi Scylla,

How will they capture this in the form? If the existing number in the family is 4, and they each sponsoring 2, how do they capture total number at 8? The form does not have options to capture who are you co-signing for.

Bad advice. Can't fool CRA. They will come after you.

Hi all, I arrived in Canada in year 2019, I have notice of assessment for year 2019 but not for 2018. Am I eligible to apply under PGP 2020?

Hey guys,

My wife and I are looking to express interest to sponsor our respective parents in the process that opens up today, we will also be co-signing each other's applications. We currently are a family of 3 including our son.

My query is, that technically including our parents, the total number in the family would be 7. However, the form does not have any field to capture such a situation.

1. number of people in your immediate family : 3
2. total number of people you already sponsored : 0
3. total number of people you want to sponsor : 2

Total: 5.

We don't have a field to capture the total number of people you are looking to co-sign. If I put in 4 in the total number of people you want to sponsor, it will not match with only 2 entries in the form.

Hope to get some expert advice here, thanks.

hey guys i have a technical question. I'm uploading my PR card for the invite to apply form. My PR card is scanned on two pages in the PDF. When they first open it they'll only see the front side they will have to scroll down to page two to see the reverse side. Would that be okay or should I make both front and back on the same page.
