I had a chance to apply for PR in Singapore but after 3 years working-living in Singapore, seriously, I did not miss it a bit. Moving to Canada was one of the best choice

I do not miss Singapore at all either. Lived there 36 years. LOL!

Another month passed since I posted last time, doubting PGP 2020 will ever happen or not ? Seems like to we are pretty much heading towards PGP 2021 without any existence of PGP 2020!

Who is still optimistic that parents applications will open this year? Any inputs ?

Given they aren't even drawing FSW applicants right now, I get the feeling they will skip a year for parent sponsorship. Wouldn't be the first time...

Exactly, not sure how it will be rolled out for next year!

Hello everyone,

I've been on this forum for a long time, but never under this stream. I was hoping to get a little insight on a couple things that I'm not clear about regarding PGP based on the previous rules. I know that nothing has been announced as yet for this year.

- What family size would I need to use for the minimum income under the below scenario?
Child born in 2016. Child born in 2020. Husband and myself.

2017- Family of 3 or 4?
2018- Family of 3 or 4?
2019- Family of 3 or 4?
2020- Family of 4

- I'm assuming that there are no concessions for being on maternity or parental leave correct? Meaning with the reduced income, you would still need to meet the same minimum?

Thanks for your help!

How many people are you planning to sponsor under PGP? You need to add that parent(s) and their dependent in the calcuation as well.
2017- Family of 3 + parent(s) & dependent(s)
2018- Family of 3 + parent(s) & dependent(s)
2019- Family of 3 + parent(s) & dependent(s)
2020- Family of 4 + parent(s) & dependent(s)

Correct. No concessions.

Thank you for this response. It would be my 2 parents. I may also co-sponsor for my 2 parents in law. If the 2 applications are ongoing at the same time for some reason, would I then have to indicate sponsoring 4 additional people and not just 2 each?

If the applications are ongoing at the same time, you'll need to have LICO to cover 8 people.

Assuming the LICO rules remains unchanged; You sponsor for your parents and co-sign sponsor for another 2 parents, you need the LICO to cover:

2017: 7 people (you, your wife, 1 child, 4 parents)
2018: 7 people (you, your wife, 1 child, 4 parents)
2019: 7 people (you, your wife, 1 child, 4 parents)
2020: 8 people (you, your wife, 2 child, 4 parents)

And assume IRCC will reopen the program in 2021!

For the proof of income requirements, if I can show the last 3 years tax forms with the minimum income requirement, do I have to be working at the time of PGP application? Can I be a student at that time?

Any idea?

You need to meet LICO until your parent lands.
